Story
Hi ! The pup is loving and rambunctious. He is independent, intelligent, playful yet mature. He likes his food and is not very patient with it yet. He has also not started to chew on things as he gets good exercise with the other dog. He has to be taken out every few hours as he is getting house trained. He enjoys hanging around the yard but prefers being indoors. He loves snuggling with the other dog and myself but he is also independent. He will be great with a family with kids and dogs. But he also needs a trainer as he is very intelligent and likes to do things, obey commands etc. Thank you !

Story
Rip a 4 yr old, Malinois/Belgian Shepherd mix. He is a big boy at 90lbs. Rip is very intelligent and eager to please. He is very food motivated. He knows many basic commands, including sit, touch, down, paw and is working on roll over. He is also crate trained. Rip enjoys going on long walks with staff and volunteers. Rip's walking ability has received glowing reviews, as our walkers have told us he is one of the most enjoyable dogs to walk. Rip enjoys human interaction, and will ask for attention and affection at any given opportunity. Like any good dog he loves a butt scratch, a belly rub and a head pat. As for other dogs, Rip is selective. He enjoys the company of a dominant female, who can doll out and receive some rough and rowdy play. As much as he loves kids of all ages, due to his size and general doofiness a home with children is not recommended. Rip is also not suitable for a home with cats. For more information on Rip Wheeler, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for a pre adopt application. Adoption fees for Dogs (8yrs and up) is $150 Adult Dogs is $400 and Puppies under a year is $500

Story
Meet Tommy & Baby a bonded pair looking for their fresh start together. These two were part of a local rescue our team facilitated in Queens. Both are about 3 years young, good with other dogs, and would do best in an adult-only home for now. Because of their past, Tommy and Baby need a super special adopter. We believe they were previously abused and mostly lived outside, so they require a home with significant breed experience and rescue-dog savvy. They will need continued training, exposure, and structure as they settle into their new lives. Tommy is a handsome, confident boy, while Baby is more timid around people and needs time to warm up — but she blossoms with patience and understanding. Together, they bring out the best in each other, which is why we are committed to placing them as a bonded pair. If you are interested in meeting Tommy & Baby, please submit an adoption application directly on our website. Note: we will not process applications without proper breed and overall experience.

Story
Chai is a 3 month old Belgian Malinois mix. She's the perfect mix of spice, warmth, and sweetness. She has lots of energy, just what you’d expect for her age and breed and she absolutely thrives on activity, training, and mental stimulation. She is doing wonderfully in her foster home and is being crate trained and working on being housebroken. Due to her breed, we require adopters to have prior breed experience and be committed to providing the structure, exercise, and training that a Belgian Malinois mix needs to thrive. If you're interested, please apply at almosthomeli.org

Story
Kalvin is a handsome, gentle giant weighing around 80 pounds and overflowing with pure love. This sweet boy has a submissive, easygoing personality and a heart as big as he is. Despite his size, Kalvin is incredibly gentle, affectionate, and well-mannered, making him a joy to be around. Around 2.5 years old, Kalvin was rescued from the Cayman Islands and is now ready to find his forever home. He truly enjoys human companionship and is happiest when he’s soaking up attention and affection. We believe Kalvin could do well in a home with children and other dogs, as he has shown himself to be friendly and social. He has not yet been cat tested. Kalvin is looking for a family who will give him the love, stability, and comfort he deserves — and in return, he’ll offer unwavering loyalty, endless cuddles, and a lifetime of devotion. If you think Kalvin might be the perfect addition to your family, please fill out an adoption application on our website: 👉 almosthomeli.org Give this sweet island boy the happy ending he’s been waiting for

Story
Bought Ace from a store in Norwalk and ever since then I had problems with my family not liking him. They all get annoyed by his presence and when he does things like barking or would have accidents here and there it would turn into a huge thing. But along with that I’m also not able to properly tend to his needs and it was a huge miscalculation on my part because I didn’t think my family would dislike him being there as much as they do but I learned the hard way. I work early and come back late and I’m not able to walk him or give him as much attention as I should be, not even close and I just want a better home for him. As long as I am guaranteed a home that will take care of his needs I’ll be content and okay. I’m also willing to the family interested in adopting
