Bailey is a calm, loving Anatolian shepherd mix. Really great with kids & other dogs. Kennel trained and she’s do smart she can open a sliding door. Bailey was found out and about on her own in waxahachi Texas. A Good Samaritan found her and did a fantastic job training her. She’s very obedient and knows several commands. Unfortunately she can’t keep her so she needs to find a home before she gets sent to Houston where they euthanize everyday! Vaccinated, spayed, hw-. Bailey is so deserving!!! Please give her a chance! Be the hero you know you are!!! Update … Bailey is being fostered in Fairfield if you would like to meet her!

Story
Meet Sunshine Louise! This beautiful Anatolian Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix is super sweet and wants to be your best friend. She currently weights about 90 lbs. She is house trained (she will ring bells on the back door to go outside). She is very well behaved and does not require a crate indoors. Sunshine is a very, very laid back girl….until she feels the need to guard her home. We are unsure of her age, but the guess is around 6 years old. She is smart and very treat motivated. She loves to go on walks especially first thing in the morning and after the sun goes down. She LOVES people and kids! She is good with other dogs as long as they respect her boundaries. She easily integrates into a pack, but remains kind of a loner. She is spayed, (after having 10 puppies), microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. She has also completed Heart Worm treatment. Sunshine loves belly rubs and pets. She will look lovingly and longingly into your eyes like she knows that her life has been saved and she is so very grateful. She is a very calm girl who prefers to lay on the cool floor. She is a “guardian” breed and will quietly take up a position (usually in a doorway) and just relax. She knows basic commands but does have a stubborn streak. Usually a treat will encourage her to follow your directions. Sunshine does have a high prey drive, so no cats or tiny toy breeds please. She also has a history of fence jumping to pursue wildlife, so a privacy fence would be ideal. If you would like to meet this precious girl and make her part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Sunshine is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.

Story
Meet Polar, the gentle soul with a heart as vast as the Arctic. This shy shepherd mix is about 18 months old, 78 pounds and has weathered life's storms but still dreams of finding his forever home. Despite his initial hesitation, once Polar feels the warmth of a caring touch, he blossoms into a loyal companion, dedicated to those who show him kindness. Polar isn't just a lone wolf – he's a social butterfly when it comes to furry friends, getting along famously with dogs big and small. Despite his shy nature around people, Polar's confidence shines through when he's surrounded by his canine companions, he loves his doggie foster siblings and has learned a lot from them. This intelligent shepherd mix has already mastered the art of sitting and is eagerly soaking up more knowledge, proving himself to be a quick learner. He’s fully housetrained and whether he's strolling through the neighborhood or embarking on outdoor adventures, Polar's love for walks knows no bounds. But don't let his energetic side fool you – Polar also knows the importance of relaxation. When it's time to unwind, he's a certified couch potato, happy to snuggle up beside you for some quality downtime. But when the call of the wild beckons, Polar is ready to dash and dart, reveling in the joy of freedom as he races around with unbridled enthusiasm. With patience and love, Polar is poised to transform into the magnificent dog he's meant to be. Will you be the one to give Polar the love and support he deserves, guiding him on his journey to becoming a cherished member of your family? Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Meet Josie, a three-year-old, 50 lb. Anatolian Shepherd mix. She was found roaming the streets in Texas before being taken in by a good samaritan. She’s currently in Texas awaiting an adopter or foster so she can travel up north to find her furever family! Josie is a spunky, energetic, and active girl who loves her playtime, runs, and walks. She especially loves the water and splashing around in her pool. Josie adores affection and loves to be pet and get belly rubs. Her favorite toys are ones that squeak and she's always up for a game of fetch. She has done great with the dogs that she has met but has never been cat tested. Josie does well in an outdoor kennel but will need basic training for indoor crating, as well as housetraining and basic obedience/manners. A fenced yard is a must. She'll make a wonderful addition to any home! Her adoption fee is $400 and Josie is vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and spayed. Story
Moira Rose has had her last litter and is now taking time out for herself. She is getting the hang of indoor living and what it means to curl up on a doggie bed. Getting the attention she has been lacking for a long time. Walks good on leash, rides great in the car. Moira Rose is a great bird watcher and will run and bark to let them know she won’t tolerate their present. She’s a bit on the aloof side, comes to you when she feels the need. She will growl to get your attention as to say I’m here human, give me your hand. She gets excited when she thinks she can read your movement and barks with excitement to know she was right about it. Best with another dog to help her to have that security being with one of her kind. She plays well with others and will find her cuddled up with her favorite pal. Patiently waiting for her forever home. www.cprdogs.com . Moira Rose is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested neg for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling!
