Story
Meet Possum! He is an 1 year old, 70-pound Anatolian Shepherd Mix. Life with Possum is awesome! We might say it too much, but it's true - he is a very good boy. Possum is house and crate trained and very well-behaved indoors. He is intelligent, independent, and loyal. Long walks through Central Park and discovering new smells are some of his favorite activities. He loves investigating and exploring. However, he doesn't love the city, and loud noises, big vehicles, or busy spaces can make him a little nervous and skittish. Possum doesn't care much for humans but loves playing with other dogs. He gets along great with all breeds, both big and small. If you live a quiet life but enjoy spending time outdoors, Possum is the perfect companion and guardian for you. Providing him with a spacious, securely fenced yard or taking him for multiple walks in the park would fulfill his exercise needs. At home, he is content to relax and just keep a watchful eye on things. He also loves butt scratches and sleeping in spaces too small for him. :) If you're looking for a loyal companion to cuddle and explore the outdoors with, Possum is the perfect pup for you! He is currently being fostered in Manhattan, NY. The adoption fee for this animal is sponsored by a donor for $300 making his adoption cost to you $125. To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
