Story
Howdy Doody, my name is Ziggy and I am an adorable small Anatolian Shepherd/Jack Russell Terrier mix puppy, super soft and fluffy, about 4 months old, and I weigh 15.4 lbs. I was found in San Antonio Texas at 3 am crying in the rain and the lady who brought me in worked at a local Veterinary clinic. I was so tiny and adorable that everyone loved me and wanted me to stay, so they set me up with my own “apartment” inside next door to another recently found puppy named Uno. We have lots of fun playing together and get gobs of attention from all the techs, plus all our vaccines, neuter, microchip, everything a puppy could need except a forever home… and that's where you come in. I’m a spunky little guy, playful and friendly with everyone, dogs and humans, and maybe a kitty cat if I ever meet one. I’m loveable and snuggly, not too barky, and I love toys and treats. I’m ready to be adopted so I can move to Connecticut with all the big dogs looking for forever homes. I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little puppy like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started! PUPDATE: I just moved to Connecticut today, and I am already having fun playing with my new foster parents and all the family dogs. Please stop by and meet me, but be prepared to fall in love and take me home! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Story
Meet Polar, the gentle soul with a heart as vast as the Arctic. This shy shepherd mix is about 18 months old, 78 pounds and has weathered life's storms but still dreams of finding his forever home. Despite his initial hesitation, once Polar feels the warmth of a caring touch, he blossoms into a loyal companion, dedicated to those who show him kindness. Polar isn't just a lone wolf – he's a social butterfly when it comes to furry friends, getting along famously with dogs big and small. Despite his shy nature around people, Polar's confidence shines through when he's surrounded by his canine companions, he loves his doggie foster siblings and has learned a lot from them. This intelligent shepherd mix has already mastered the art of sitting and is eagerly soaking up more knowledge, proving himself to be a quick learner. He’s fully housetrained and whether he's strolling through the neighborhood or embarking on outdoor adventures, Polar's love for walks knows no bounds. But don't let his energetic side fool you – Polar also knows the importance of relaxation. When it's time to unwind, he's a certified couch potato, happy to snuggle up beside you for some quality downtime. But when the call of the wild beckons, Polar is ready to dash and dart, reveling in the joy of freedom as he races around with unbridled enthusiasm. With patience and love, Polar is poised to transform into the magnificent dog he's meant to be. Will you be the one to give Polar the love and support he deserves, guiding him on his journey to becoming a cherished member of your family? Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Meet Daredevil! He is the bravest superhero with no sight. This handsome young floof ball is about 3 and a half months old and weighs 15 pounds. We are not exactly sure what breeds he has in him but we suspect something like Anatolian Sheperd or Great Pyrenees. Daredevil earned his name due to the fact that he has no eyeballs, and like the character himself is still the most brave of souls! Daredevil tries his best to be a normal dog, he will even use the potty pads when he needs to potty! The best way he has learned is by being with other dogs, his foster fur siblings truly helped bring him out of his shell, so he would thrive best in a home with another dog. His foster mom has done great at trying to introduce him to the outside world but as to be expected all the different noises can be a bit scary not being able to see what they are. Daredevil will need lots of training to adjust as he grows, but is the sweetest of boys you will ever meet. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $650. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Bolto is a great dog. He is very smart and has a great sense of his whereabouts. With a great family he will become acclaimate quickly. He is excellent around children and other animals, and really enjoys playing outside. For an old dog he has a great will about him as if inside he was still a young pup. He has a really good appetite, and does well with his cues to use the bathroom. All in all Bolto is a fantastic dog and with the right family he will be a great addition. Meet Balto, the 8-10 year old shepherd mix with a heart full of love. Balto has a gentle and affectionate nature, making him a perfect companion for families with kids, other dogs, and even cats. He is not only house trained, but he also has a puppy, like energy and a love for outdoor activities, like going for walks and playing in the backyard. However, don’t be fooled by his active side, as Balto is also a sleepyhead who enjoys his downtime.Despite his playful nature, Balto has been dealing with bad back hips. It’s been a tough journey, but with regular injections, medication and exercise his hips are improving every day. He may occasionally mount other dogs, but he’s a work in progress, showing that he is open to learning and growing. Balto’s resilience, and determination to overcome his health issues is truly inspiring. If you’re looking for a loving and good natured dog, who is both energetic and laid-back, then look no further than Balto. He is ready to bring joy and moths to your home, and with a little patience and understanding, he will make a wonderful addition to any family. Balto’s story is a testament to the healing, power of love and care, and he is undoubtedly deserving of a loving forever home

Story
Marty was found by animal control in rural OK and taken to an underfunded shelter that just didn't have the resources to help out such a big baby who is on the shy side. That's when we were alerted and agreed to take him into rescue. Marty is as sweet as they come. While very large, and still growing, he is as gentle as they come. He gets along with the other dogs in foster and ignores the cat. He is fully housebroken and crate trained. To hear him walking around the house is like listening to a horse. He's all legs. Marty is not good on leash and freezes, but he is workable. He will need a patient home with a yard for him to run free in and a family to give him lots of love.
