Story
Hi, I’m Moon. They say I’m a 2-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, but honestly, I feel much older than that. Life hasn’t exactly been gentle with me. For as long as I can remember, it’s just been me, Bennett – my baby’s dad – and the endless streets. I gave birth to my little one, Alex, all alone out there. We didn’t have a safe place to rest or warm hands to care for us. It was just me, trying my best to keep us alive and safe. The kind folks at Second Chance Dog Rescue found me after someone saw me and Bennett roaming around. A partner of theirs trapped me and brought me to safety, but it’s hard to let go of the fear and hurt. The past has left its mark, and every human hand feels like a question: Will they hurt me, too? I’m learning, though. The volunteers here are patient, letting me come to them on my own terms. I have begun to trust them, and can go on leash walks. I'm learning about toys and zoomies and love them. I’m a good mom, a gentle soul, and, despite my past, I know deep down I still have love to give. I even enjoy the company of other dogs, as long as they respect my space and understand that trust doesn’t come easy for me. Did I mention I love treats, well I do! I love seeing all the new baby puppies come through the rescue. I enjoy running in yards with dogs smaller than me. Every day, I’m learning that there’s a future out there with a kind family who won’t let me down. Until then, I’m holding on, one soft touch and gentle word at a time. Thank you for following my journey. I may have been let down before, but I’m hopeful my second chance is just around the corner. Ready to meet me? Fill out the adoption form or foster form below and the nice volunteers will be in touch soon. ? Adopt: https://forms.gle/wGHovEBpHfhZJcgQA ? Foster: https://forms.gle/mWzGJcvMuRyGDtsx6 Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, up-to-date on vaccines, deworming, heartworm tested, a supply of heartworm preventative, and microchip. Story
Meet Willie! Willie is a 90-pound goofball with a heart as big as he is! This Lab/Anatolian Shepherd mix has the best of both breeds—protective and loyal like an Anatolian, playful and water-loving like a Lab.Willie adores people and is great with children, though due to his size, we recommend a home with kids age 5 and up. He gets along well with other dogs with slow introductions but can be protective of his food and toys around them. He hasn’t been around cats, but we think he’d be okay with them. This big guy loves the outdoors—hiking, walking, camping, and car rides are all on his list of favorites. He’s housebroken, uses a doggy door, and is crate trained. Willie has also worked with a trainer and responds well to commands.True to his Lab side, one of his favorite things is water—he’ll never pass up a chance to splash around! On the Anatolian side, he takes his guarding duties seriously—especially when it comes to keeping coyotes away from his home.Willie’s favorite part of the day? Cuddling with his humans and resting his big head in your lap for some well-earned head rubs. He’s incredibly loyal and loving, and would thrive either as an only dog or with furry siblings. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Meet Arnold! Arnold is a two year old Anatolian Shepherd- Great Pyrenees mix. He is about 70 lbs. He loves his groceries and is eating well. He is friendly and loves to play: any game you will play with him. He especially loves to run around the yard and play “tag”.   If Arnold were a football player he would be a tight end. Big, strong, agile and can get anything and make a touchdown.  Arnold can get a bit rough and is understanding through training what is desirable play behavior. Arnold knows basic commands: sit and come. “ Stay” is a work in progress: he just can hardly stand to be away from you! Arnold is a good buddy to his foster brother, who is also a big dog. He is intimidating to smaller dogs, as he likes to do a diving tackle to initiate play time.  He would do fine with older children.   Arnold needs a family that will appreciate his exuberance for life and give him room to run and play, and time to cuddle, if you can both fit on the couch. In all that energy there is a great sweetness and a desire to connect and be loved. Arnold is currently in a three-week training program and is doing great!    To meet Arnold, please fill out an application!    Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application.  Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption.   Dallas/Ft. Worth area Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application.  Adoption fee of $295 includes neuter/spay, microchip, heartworm testing, deworming, vaccinations, and other necessary procedures.  Applications without a phone number will not be processed.Applications can be found online at www.pawsofloverescue.com, under the adopt tab.  We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.  June 8, 2025, 10:35 pm
