Georgie Boy was dumped in an oil field and found by a kind team member who knew he needed help. Georgie had not had much love and care prior to arriving in his foster home. He is the sweetest boy who tries his best to be enjoying all the comforts of a home that provides safety, all the food he can eat to fill his tummy, and cuddle up with his foster family. Georgie LOVES playing in water and would do best with another dog in the home to keep showing him the ropes! He is also smart as a whip and very trainable.

Meet Champ! This 1.5-year-old pup is basically a 10-year-old boy in dog form—playful, goofy, and always ready for fun! He’s completely obsessed with water, loves to romp, and has a mischievous streak that will keep you laughing. Champ is also a total cuddle bug when playtime is over. He’d do best as an only dog or with other large dogs since he’s still learning to share and can be protective of “treasures” (like things he sneaks from the trash). With a little guidance, this sweet boy will make the perfect adventure buddy and snuggle partner. He’s so ready to find his forever family! 💜 A little on his background: Champ is a young Anatolian Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. He was found tied to a post in a parking lot, alone and very scared. Once rescued by a TGPR team member, he has relaxed and is doing wonderfully in his foster home. Champ gets along very well with his foster brother, and loves hanging with his foster family everywhere they go in the house. He bonds with people quickly and is a darling boy, very loyal and loving! Champ is healing fantastically from some wounds that he had prior to when TGPR rescued him. Champ is doing great in his foster home and would be a good buddy to a mature and large dog who is patient with a younger pup.

He has settled into his foster home, but is still working on refining his basic manners. Louie is completely house trained, crate trained, stays off furniture and is highly food motivated. Louie loves to play with both his human friends and his dog friends. He is very loyal and has some typical shepherd attributes. Meet Mika! He is a 1 yr old male Belgian Shepherd/Australian Kelpie mix mix that weighs 57lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/27 as a stray. He has such a loving, gentle, moderate personality. He enjoys being petted and loved on. Takes treats gently and walks well on a leash. Mika does walk with a bit of a wobble, due to an injury to his hip bone. He is doing much better and is anxious to find his own loving forever family. As the other dogs were barking at him, he showed no interest, but we always ask if there will be another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. He would enjoy having a secured yard he can enjoy, then definitely come back inside where he can have his own comfy dog bed and the company of his human family. You just can`t resist Mika, he would make such a loving loyal companion.

Madeleine is a 3yr-old spayed female Belgium Shepherd/German Shepherd mix that weighs 73lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 12/16 as a stray. When she got out into the yard, she got distracted with smelling and was more relaxed. She frequently looked out over the wall. She may have been looking for her owners. She is well mannered. There were several times when it looked like she was going to jump on me, but didn’t when I told her no. She didn`t show any interest in the other dogs barking at her, yet if there is another dog in the home, please ask the shelter for a dog test. She sits for treats, takes them gently, and walks ok on a leash. She has the right amount of energy to be playful,but not overbearing. She’s really sweet and wants to please. Due to her size she would need a yard, but she deserves to spend quality time in her new home with her family.

Zara is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois Mix. We adopted her at 6 months from a shelter, the same day she came back from being fostered. She has lots of energy and loves attention. She has been around other dogs (that she loves to play with), she is great with cats because she use to live with one (she needs to be reminded to be gentle with cats), she absolutely loves kids (she will jump on them as well). She knows a couple of commands. She is not aggressive at all and she senses when you are upset/sad. Her favorite things to do are going on walks, going for a ride, chasing squirrels, and playing with toys that give her a challenge. She is afraid of thunderstorms. We just want her to have an amazing home with a family, or person, that has time for her!
