Meet Arnold! Arnold is a two year old Anatolian Shepherd- Great Pyrenees mix. He is about 70 lbs. He loves his groceries and is eating well. He is friendly and loves to play: any game you will play with him. He especially loves to run around the yard and play “tag”. If Arnold were a football player he would be a tight end. Big, strong, agile and can get anything and make a touchdown. Arnold can get a bit rough and is understanding through training what is desirable play behavior. Arnold knows basic commands: sit and come. “ Stay” is a work in progress: he just can hardly stand to be away from you! Arnold is a good buddy to his foster brother, who is also a big dog. He is intimidating to smaller dogs, as he likes to do a diving tackle to initiate play time. He would do fine with older children. Arnold needs a family that will appreciate his exuberance for life and give him room to run and play, and time to cuddle, if you can both fit on the couch. In all that energy there is a great sweetness and a desire to connect and be loved. Arnold is currently in a three-week training program and is doing great! Meet Louie! He is a medium sized Anatole Shephard mix weighing 45lbs. He came to the rescue group after his family was no longer able to take care of him. He has settled into his foster home, but is still working on refining his basic manners. Louie is completely house trained, crate trained, stays off furniture and is highly food motivated. Louie loves to play with both his human friends and his dog friends. He is very loyal and has some typical shepherd attributes. Louie came from a home with 5 other dogs and he currently has a foster sibling. He is looking for a forever home and having another dog would help with his puppy energy. Evee came to us after being picked up by Animal Control when she was discovered dumped inside of a laundromat. Because of her age, and the large tumors on her body, she found herself quickly added to the Euthanasia list. Thankfully, a guardian angel was watching and we were able to tag her and save her an hour before that happened. This girl is just a sweet, big furball. She enjoys getting pet and hugs and will come and put her head in your lap when she wants snuggles. Though she is a Pyr, her barking is minimal and selective. She will protect her backyard by occasionally alerting to a strange situation or sound and you can tell she’s quite proud of herself! Evee loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home and seems so happy when she plays. She’s like a young pup again herself! She is also very good with cats! Evee is so patient when she gets a bath or brushed, is housetrained, and walks well on leash. Though she is considered a senior dog, she has so much love left to give and deserves the best home.
