Story
Maurice is an 1-year-old Blue Heeler (Australian Cattle Dog) who must be neutered before adoption.  He came to PAHS as a stray who was found in the Prattville city limits; and no owner reclaimed him.  Maurice is black and white with some brown markings too!  Black speckles are spread throughout his white coat.  Maurice weighs 31 pounds so he is a medium sized adult dog.  He is friendly, sweet, and would be good with children.  Maurice also gets along well with other dogs.  He is well behaved and leash trained.Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  June 14, 2024, 9:04 pm

Story
Hidy do! I'm Opal and it sure is nice to meet you! I am a two-year-old husky mix that is out of her home! I had a home for a while, but I really didn't care for the other dog in the home. I tried to get along, but honestly I think I would be best in a home as the only pet. I just don't like the competition. I want to be your one and only!! Anyway I have all of my vaccinations, I am heartworm negative, I have a microchip, and I have been spayed. Remember I am a working dog so keep me busy and very active and I know we will do just great together.

Story
Hi there! I'm Ralphie! This adorable little fellow was picked up by one of the nice deputies of Animal Control as I roamed around a neighborhood here in town. I was never claimed by my family and I am now ready to look for a new home. I have all of my vaccinations for my age, I have a microchip, and I have been neutered. I am still a young puppy and there is so much that I need to learn about good doggie manners, so I hope my new family will teach me. I will also need lots of exercise and fun playtime with my "fam!" Are you ready for me?

Story
All of our dogs are housed in private homes, we do not have a store or a shelter.  We do not show dogs to interested parties until they have an approved adoption application.  If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.helpingshepherdsofeverycolor.com/adoption-application  You may also find us on facebook:  Helping Shepherds of Every Color Rescue. 6/24/22 Ducky is a very sweet boy.  He likes dogs, cats, chickens, kids, and yes, even ducks.  He is brand new to rescue but we do know that he is a sweet dog.  He is initially timid around men.   2/21/24  Ducky is still in the rescue.  He is a smart dog and very sweet. Just because a dog looks like a German Shepherd mix doesn't mean it is.  We found out that Ducky is actually mostly heeler.  That's OK he needed a place to land, and we had room. Story
Lucy is a 7-8 year-old female Aussie (Australian Shepherd) mix who has already been spayed.  She is an owner turn in because the primary owner she was so devoted to passed away.  Lucy has a medium length coat that is mostly black with brown and tan markings with some white, and it is super soft.  She weighs 70 pounds; and she does need to lose some weight.  Lucy is very timid and shy because she is overwhelmed by the all the sights and sounds at the shelter.   She will need a patient owner who will give her time to adjust and decompress in her new home.  Lucy is a very sweet dog who just needs time and love to adjust to her new life.  She would be great with other dogs and older children once she adjusts to her new home.  Lucy is house trained and knows how to use a doggy door.  She is very well behaved, calm, and great on a leash.  Lucy is going to bond very quickly with her adopter because she craves human attention and kindness.  PLEASE consider adopting this beautiful sweetheart of a dog who needs her very own home and person.  Lucy will supply love, devotion, and companionship to her new best friend once she understands you are only trying to help her. Dog/puppy adoption fees are $100.  Cat/kitten adoption fees are $50.  June 14, 2024, 9:04 pm
