Story
Hi, Rook is a super sweet boy! Very friendly with people and other dogs. We visit the dog park at least twice a week. He’s a great hiking partner and doesn’t get worked up around others. His passion is smelling plants and couch cuddles! He is potty trained and can go 8-10 hours ok! He knows most commands such as sit, come here, and hey to get his attention. Rook definitely knows right and wrong, I had to console him when he got into a bag of treats I left out… He is about 6 years old and a red-tri mix Great Pyrennes/Shepard. I walk him for about a hour maybe more a day and he’s happy. A backyard would definitely decrease that. We just did his dental cleaning and all shots are up to date. I’m moving abroad and really don’t want to put him through the trauma and stress of flying 18 hours or a shelter.

Story
Ghost is a little over 2 years old, and I’ve had him for about 6 months now. I’m rehoming him because he requires a lot of attention, and my work schedule does not allow me to give him the attention that he needs and deserves. He’s a very intelligent little lovebug and loves being around people and other dogs. I know he’d thrive in a home where his humans are around a lot and he has another dog to play with.

Story
Jo — “Jumping Jo Jo,” Queen of Kisses Jo, lovingly known as Jumping Jo Jo, is an irresistibly sweet blue heeler puppy who believes love is best expressed mid-bounce. She happily launches herself up for attention and pets, making it impossible to ignore her joyful spirit and eager heart. Jo is a professional giver of kisses and licks, always ready to shower her people with affection the moment she’s close enough. Her light, expressive eyes shine with curiosity, perfectly paired with her signature brown ear and beautifully colored coat that makes her extra eye-catching. When she’s not spreading love, Jo can be found happily entertaining herself with squeaky toys and chews, tail wagging and heart full. Playful, affectionate, and endlessly charming, Jo is pure happiness on four paws. Story
Brianna Brianna is a gentle girl who simply longs for love and companionship. Although she can be shy at first, she quickly warms up once she feels safe and secure. This lovely pup adores belly rubs and will soak up all the affection you can give her. With a little encouragement with treats, she’s gradually picking up on basic commands. She’s a bit hesitant about venturing outside on her own, so will use the pass. We are  working on building her confidence. In her foster home, Brianna gets along nicely with her sister and her foster brother. While she’s not one to engage with toys or balls just yet, we’re working on finding ways to get her more active.  Given her timid nature, Brianna would thrive with someone who is patient, who can help her come out of her shell and let her unique personality shine. Story
Meet Ellie, the blue heeler with more love to give than anyone could possibly deserve. In just a few short weeks, this sweet girl has made herself right at home with the her foster family and small resident dogs proving just how adaptable and affectionate she truly is. Ellie has a determined spirit,  full of obedience and love. She knows she belongs with a human that can show her love and kindness, and we all quickly agreed that she is a thousand percent, a good dog. Ellie is a quick learner, and very easygoing. She’s already mastered sit, stay, lay down, wait, outside, inside, treat, snack, food, kennel, leave it, no bark, come back, walk, and go bye-bye, and I’m sure there are plenty more commands that just haven’t been discovered yet. Ellies foster family is absolutely smitten with her. In only three weeks, she’s been protective, loving, and an amazing “momma dog,” and we can only imagine how incredible she’ll be in a forever home where she can just be herself. So far, her foster parent hasn't seen a single bad habit or trait that would cause concern for her to find her forever home, making her the perfect fit for any family. Ellie’s dream is to play with other dogs, and while she’s gentle and respectful of their size and space, she’s always eager to make new friends. Her foster family is going to miss this girl when she finds her forever home, but knowing she’ll have a loving family, a pain-free future, and the chance to be her true self fills their hearts with happiness. Story
Meet Sansa! Sansa is a tiny gentle girl who simply longs for love and companionship. Although she can be shy at first, she quickly warms up once she feels safe and secure. She loves to cuddle and will soak up all the affection you can give her. In her foster home, Sansa gets along nicely with her foster brother. While she’s not one to engage with toys or balls just yet, we’re working on finding ways to get her more active. She loves to sit in front of a window and just stare out unless a squirl crosses her path ( not fond of them). Potty training is going very well, she will use the pads if she is not let out fast enough. We have not had a chance to work on leash training due to her not being able to walk much. Basic commands are coming along with encouragements from treats.  Sansa is so loving and just loves being around her person. Story
Berry is a 19-pound Australian Shepherd with a sensitive and gentle nature who is looking for a calm, patient home. She can be easily startled by noise and unfamiliar environments, so Berry needs adopters who understand the importance of moving slowly, keeping expectations low, and allowing her the space she needs to feel safe. Berry is gradually coming out of her shell with staff, showing quiet and steady progress as she builds trust. While she is learning each day, she still remains reserved and cautious and will thrive best in a peaceful environment with consistent routines and understanding caregivers. Berry requires another confident, well-adjusted dog in the home to help her feel secure and show her how to navigate new situations. A secure yard is also important so she can explore at her own pace and gain confidence in a safe, familiar space. A meet and greet at the shelter is required to ensure Berry and any resident dogs are a good fit. With patience, time, and a gentle approach, Berry has the potential to continue blossoming in the right home. ------ Before being rescued, many of our dogs had limited socialization, so they may need some time to adjust to life as a family pet. Older kids are often a great fit for our dogs, and homes with younger children will be considered based on each dog’s individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may take a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of these dogs adapt quite quickly. Being a part of their rehabilitation is a truly rewarding experience. To learn more about mill dogs and start the adoption process, visit our website!
