You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Remington (Remi for short) was adopted by his current family when he was a young puppy, and has lived with them since; however, with the family's circumstances changing recently, his owners are now looking for a home for Remi where he will receive more attention and care then can be given him in his current home. Remi is an active, fun-loving adult dog, a Heeler/Corgi cross with behaviors typical of the herding breeds.  He is a bit nervous about new people and things -- a very typical herding breed characteristic -- but is friendly when he gets to know the person or surroundings.  He has not lived with children but has behaved well when around them; however, it would be best, given his age, that he live in a home with older children or no children.  Also, he has not been around cats, so how he might react to them is an unknown. Like her presumed littermate Thelma, Louise came from a shelter in Indiana after being found living under a deck and surviving by eating a carcass. She was not socialized with people and has a long road ahead—but she’s making small steps forward. Louise is more skittish than Thelma. She freezes or retreats when approached and needs slow, gentle interactions. She currently allows her foster to pick her up and place her in her crate, and she has begun sniffing curiously from a distance. Louise is still very fearful and will bark at strangers. One bright spot: she loves other dogs, which is helping her learn to trust and observe calm, social behavior. She needs a patient, experienced home where she can continue to blossom. Not ready yet—but worth the wait. She's a true peoplelover, always ready for affection and cuddles. Suzi enjoys a variety of things and activities such as playing tug, soft squeaky toys, going on walks, frozen peanut butter filled kongs, hard chews, licky mats, snuffle mats, dog puzzles, soft foam dog beds (and maybe a fuzzy one for her head), belly rubs, and giving kisses. She's potty trained and kennel trained, though she'd rather be by your side.  Suzi has a bit of a prey drive, so she's not suited for homes with small animals. She's selective with other dogs, making her a good fit as an only dog or with a submissive dog companion. She's actively learning commands and tricks (sit, lie down, come, wait, here, get it, give it, leave it, place, here, spin, twirl, touch, hide, roll over, crawl and catch) and is eager to please for treats or toys. Suzi is intelligent, inquisitive, and knows when to relax. If you're seeking a Border Collie's intelligence, beauty, and loyalty without the high energy, Suzi is your ideal match. She requires a fenced yard and someone knowledgeable about her breed. She's spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. Hi, I'm Abby! I have been at the shelter for a while now and really want to find my forever home. I am an Aussie/ heeler mix and have the personality to match. I will fit best with somebody who is willing to invest in dog training and has experience with herding dogs. If you give me a little time to learn what you want from me, I know I will make you happy. I prefer a human with an active lifestyle and want a fenced yard to run in to keep me physically active. Since I'm a very intelligent dog, I would love to have my brain challenged! I would prefer a home without other animals or children. I have some arthritis in my hips and the vet has found a protocol that keeps me comfortable.
