Story
Did you know that the ivy plant is a symbol of everlasting life, devotion, fidelity and loyalty? An inspiring name for a charismatic pooch such as myself! Being the young lady that I am, an active family would be a match made in heaven! Play time is quite possibly my favorite time of day (sometimes I get a bit carried away with my plushy toys). I like to live life enthusiastically, having a positive direction for my gusto would be the ultimate delight for me! Although physical activity is an absolute riot, having a cool down period with some mental games is a good time too. At the end of the day, I just want to be involved with my people. I am not one to turn down a snuggle session by any means. What can I say, I am a sweetheart after all. I hope to find a family that wants to understand and accepts me for the glorious rescue dog that I am. For instance, I like some other dogs, but not every dog. Smaller dogs (and cats for that matter) remind me of chicken nuggets, I can't help but feel some prey drive there. But some other dogs my own size are fun to hang out and play with. I suppose that its pretty normal to not get along with everyone you meet in life though. Whether or not you are a botanical enthusiast, if you are looking for a forever companion submit your adoption application for the perfect furry addition! DOB: 5/25/2021 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physical fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Story
Hello friends Im looking for a new home. My name is ricky . I came home with this family when I was 9weeks old! i didn;t know anything about this breed of dog) They have been good to me and I get along with zeus the other dog and cat miles pretty good. Im 1year old in april. I do have lots of energy and no yard to play in. I need to be watched and interacted with and the kids here are teenagers and do teenage stuff! Im in a kennel all day as mom works and comes home walks me and plays catch but when mom is not home Im in the kennel. He is ok with the pets we have but when trying to re home they had a dog and he was aggressive. So I would recommend no pets. Need someone that will spend time with ricky to train . He is a good dog just need to run and be trained. He is territorial I think but not sure! Im not good with telling things but I just want to give ricky a good home to run and do dogs things. If interested please contact me!

Story
Meet Cooper; She is very sweet girl, who is looking for her fur-ever home. We believe she is around 3-4 years old and is a cattle dog mix. She came to us when her owner passed away and the other owner couldn’t care for her. Due to her breed or mix of breeds we are looking for a very specific home for her where she will be set up best for success! Cooper is pretty reactive towards people on leash and will nip at shins or ankles. She enjoys lots of exercise, biking right now seems to be her favorite. She’d probably do best as an only dog, as loves all the attention on her! She has had some interaction with other dogs on leash and she will correct them if their energy becomes to much for her.   Cooper also needs a kid free home.   We are requiring that her fur-ever home have heeler experience and be committed to getting her the training that she needs. Cooper will also need someone who is willing to do some training with her. **Cooper being a heeler mix does have high herding tendencies, and has a single “bite history” as she nipped someone in the calf.     An approved adoption application is required. The $200 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; and heartworm testing. Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.May 17, 2024, 11:35 pm

Story
Foster location: Eagle, Michigan Meet Axel! Axel is a super handsome 1.5 year old Cattle Dog mix that is looking for his forever home. He is a very social boy who loves playing with his foster siblings and running with them in the yard, going for walks and meeting new people and then cuddling up on the couch at night with his foster mom. Axel has been attending doggy daycare and loves it! Axel is house and crate trained and walks good on a leash. He is great about chewing on his toys and bones and not getting into things he shouldn’t. Axel would enjoy an active home with another young dog to play with, he has really bonded with his foster siblings and enjoys running and playing with them. Kids make Axel nervous so he is looking for a home without children. Axel is a very sweet and smart boy and catches onto new things quickly, he is young and ready to learn! In order to set him up for success we would recommend his family enroll him in a positive reinforcement training class upon adoption. Axel’s adoption fee is $300, he is neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, microchipped, dewormed, and current on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. Please follow the instructions to apply for Axel found in the auto-reply you will receive or email adoptapupanimalrescue@gmail.com for an application. Adopt A Pup is 100% foster-based which means we do not have a centralized facility where you can visit our dogs. The first step towards meeting the dog(s) you are interested is to complete an application. One of our volunteers will contact your references and set up a time between you and the foster to meet and interact with the dog(s) of interest.
