Story
Do you like surprises? Well this is the biggest surprise you can get. Our best guess for 1.5yr old Milo is that he is a heeler mix but truthfully who knows. He has the energy of a heeler and seems to have some herding type tendencies but otherwise we have no clue! He has been around dogs did well. He may act shy and introverted to begin with but boy oh boy when he warms up then its go go go! He does great with cats and children as well! Milo is 37# of fun! His adoption fee is $175 plus tax. Find us on Facebook to be updated on events and shelter news! All animals up for adoption at the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative (if age appropriate), up to date on vaccinations (a booster may be needed), given flea and tick preventative, given heartworm preventative, dewormed, and treated for anything necessary: such as dental cleanings, ear infections, etc. Please visit our website for prices and more information about our hours. No pre-applications are accepted, please come to the shelter with your family with no appointment needed. If you have another dog, we'd like an appointment to do a meet and greet with your other dog. We can cat test here at the shelter. If you have questions, please email or call us and we'll answer your questions the best we can. Potty training is not guaranteed nor implied. Story
First of all, isn't she just beautiful? This 6mos old heeler x is 20lbs of cuteness! Chakra came in with her siblings after being dumped at a farm site. She is the most confident of her siblings and such a lover! Chakra loves toys and treats and just running around to play. It is quite obvious that she has never been on a leash though so that will be something for her to work on as she gets scared and just belly flops to the ground. This little lady would benefit from an active home as heelers have TONS of energy. She would also benefit from having another dog in the home to help boost her confidence. Stop on in to meet her! Story
This handsome young man is quite the hoot! This is 1yr old Max! He is quite the breed mixture at Heeler/Elkhound/Fox Terrier. With a mix of those breeds he definitely has quite the large amount of energy and would love an active family to help him work some of that energy off! Max did live with children and other dogs and did great! He can be a bit shy at first but warms up well. Stop on in to meet him! Adoption fee is $175 plus tax. Story
Location: Maple Grove, MN Tesla arrived to rescue terrified and pregnant. Unfortunately her puppies did not survive, but now she is loving all that life has to offer in her foster home. Once she learned what it felt like to snuggle with her humans on the couch, she quickly realized it's her favorite thing in the world, and she will leap from across the room when she sees her foster family sit down on the couch - ready for their love. Tesla loves her people, and wants nothing more than love and affection from her family. She is constantly trying to get hugs and snuggles from her foster family (canine and human), and it is so sweet. She lives with 2 kids, ages 8 and 13, and she is great with them and their friends. However, she is uncomfortable with little kids that do not respect her boundaries. (I.e. Toddlers that climb on dogs and put their face in hers is not going to be a fit.) But she does wonderful with kids that demonstrate appropriate dog behavior - letting her approach them, and giving her time to build trust with them. She loves going on walks, and playing with her toys. Her first year of life was spent tied up to the outside of a house, so it is a natural instinct to protect her people and herself. On walks, she can be a bit protective of her family, so it's important to continue leash training to control her reactions. She is extremely treat motivated, and does a wonderful job when we work with her on it! She is relaxed, with medium energy overall, sleeping most of the day while her foster family works. She is potty trained, and kennel trained. She is silent in her kennel overnight, but does have some opinions to express during the day when alone sometimes, so shared walls may not be the right fit for her. Tesla enjoys playing with other dogs as long as she is given slow introductions. Her foster home has 4 other dogs, and she does great with all of them, after a very slow introduction period. Tesla shows a lot of interest in small critters, so we recommend no cats in her forever home. If you are looking for a pet that loves her people fiercely, check out sweet Tesla. She will fill you up with all her love! ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Sioux Falls, SD This is Bo, he is such a sweet guy who's looking for his forever home! He came into the rescue at about 4 weeks and is now 4 months He is still looking for his forever home! He would be the perfect addition to most any family. He does so well with dogs, cats and loves all people. He plays so nicely with little dogs (as he is a big guy). Bo is almost fully potty trained as well as kennel trained. He also does pretty well with walking on the leash! He would love a family to hangout with and snuggle. But would also love a family to interact with him and run around with him in the back yard. Bo loves to play soccer that has become his new found obsession and he could do it forever. He loves to play chase with the other dogs in the home and when he's all done he loves to come in and nap on the coach. Bo is an mazing pup and is in his prime to find his forever home. I'm not sure why he hasn't been adopted yet honestly! He is almost perfect. :) --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Location: Vermillion, SD Hi! I'm really excited to meet you! Will you give me tummy scritches? I'm Laurel and I like to take long walks.... well... to anywhere. I also like to run too! Maybe we could be jogging buddies? I'm getting really good at this leash thing but squirrels look mighty fun to run after. I don't seem to be interested in chasing a ball or Frisbee though. I will, however, take whatever plushie chew toy you give me and be pretty happy! I seem to be pretty chill about other dogs once I get to know them but I will let you know if there are any shady ones walking by the house. I'm a pretty active gal, want to be my gym partner? ---------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org).
