Story
Have you been feeling lonely and lost? Is your house too quiet, too clean? Do you find yourself thinking ‘I would like really like to raise a puppy!’ Lloyd is for you! He is a puppy in every sense of the word: he loves to chew, explore, run, jump, play with other dogs, the cat, people, … and did we mention chew? Lloyd was born in December 2025, and currently weighs about 25#. He is an Australian Cattle Dog mix named for the horse trainer who found him living on a farm. He was the last puppy from his litter and was living with horses and other dogs. His friendly, happy, social demeanor was impossible to miss, and he quickly hitched a ride into rescue. Maybe his floppy ears and diamond of blue in one eye helped him stand out? He has taken his new chapter in stride and now lives with kids, cats, people and dogs in a busy household. Lloyd is a very social puppy who loves everyone, happily greeting visitors to the home and effortlessly charming them. He has puppy energy (go-go-go-nap!) and learns quickly. He walks nicely on a leash and has been practicing his “town manners” when out and about. Even though Lloyd is a busy guy learning about the world, he crates well at night and is content and relaxed in the house. He likes to hang out where the people are with a chew toy, or watching activities in the kitchen, patiently waiting for someone to drop food. The perfect companion for a herding-dog savvy person, couple or family, Lloyd wants to take obedience classes and be part of lots of activities. He loves playing ‘farm agility’ and will be great at any dog sport or as the sidekick to an active human. He’s a handsome guy who is ready to do all the things with his person! Lloyd is being fostered in St. Joseph, MN. Lloyd's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax. He is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. He will be neutered and microchipped at the age of 6 months at one of the vet clinics we work with: the cost of this procedure is included in his adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Story
Meet Coraline (Cora), A bright and joyful 4-month-old Red Heeler mix with a big personality packed into a puppy-sized body! This sweet girl’s favorite place to be is as close to you as possible, preferably attempting to squeeze herself right onto your lap for snuggles. Cora is a smart pup who is already potty trained and comfortable in her crate, giving her a fantastic head start for her age. Like any young puppy, she’s still learning the meaning of “no,” but her eagerness to please and quick mind make her a great student. When it comes to meeting new people, Cora’s enthusiasm shines, she’ll happily bounce up to say hello and share her excitement. With a little continued training, she’ll polish those greetings into perfect manners. She loves squeaky toys, chasing balls, and true to puppy form, has a soft spot for shoes if they’re left within reach! Cora ignores cats and would do wonderfully in a home with children who can match her playful, affectionate energy. She also sports a docked tail and a unique ear coloring that makes her stand out in the cutest way. If you’re looking for a loving, clever, and spirited companion who will keep you smiling every day, Coraline is ready to wiggle her way right into your heart, and your lap! 🐾 All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. Story
From the Ship's log of the Black Pearl It has been four months since we last saw land. The crew and I are anxious to find what we hope to be our new forever home. The journey began under dark and foreboding skies and was at times terribly lonesome, but the weather improved a few weeks ago and it's been smooth sailing and fun on deck ever since. With the recent warm weather and favorable winds, we have traveled far and learned a lot. I'm now ship (house) trained, and can go up and down the companionways (stairs). I've mastered sit, working on lay down, and my instructor says I'll have all of my basic commands down by the time we reach port. Did I mention that I've also become crate trained and love the safety and security it provides. When we arrive I hope there will be many long walks and trips to the dog parks as I love making new friends. I'm very social and when I use my play bow to initiate play it works almost every time. I'm told that I have an average amount of zoomies for a pup my age and will thrive in an environment that is puppy friendly and has the time to teach me the ways of the world. On that note, I respond very well to positive reinforcement and I'm very sensitive so raised voices and immersion therapy aren't the best ways to teach and communicate with me. After the turbulent start I'm a little sensitive and shy to new experiences and extra time and understanding will help speed up my full recovery. I'm growing very fast at this point and currently about 5 months old. I'm part Heeler and my foster dad thinks I might have some hound in me as well. But that doesn't really matter. What does is that I'm going to be the best dog you've ever had. I'm very affectionate, gentle and loyal. I'm smart, kind, and will do my best to fill your life with as much joy as I can every day. I'm looking for a fur-ever home that has a lot of love to give and share. If you think we'd be a good fit please fill out the application forms, I'd love to meet you and tell you why my middle name is Spaghetti. All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. Story
Meet Elsie, your loyal shadow, adventure buddy, and professional snuggler 💛 Elsie is a stunning, intelligent girl with a huge heart and an even bigger personality. She absolutely thrives in a home with other dogs. She loves to play, wrestle, and then curl up for cozy naps with her canine friends. While she didn’t start out as a cat fan, her best friend is a cat named Hector and in a new home (and proper introductions) Elsie can adjust to cats with a little time and patience. This sweet girl is deeply devoted to her people. She wants to be by your side through everything, whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or even trying to load the dishwasher (she insists on supervising!). Personal space? Elsie’s never heard of it and honestly, she thinks it’s overrated. Elsie is incredibly smart and very food motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. She already knows a long list of cues like sit, down, shake, leave it, watch me, and even a few fun ones like “raise the roof!” She learns quickly and loves having a job to do. Keeping her mentally engaged, through training, play, or long walks, will help her shine. She’s also an active girl who enjoys running and has even tried canicross, pulling is her thing! She’s currently working on loose leash walking and does great when given guidance and focus cues like “watch me” or “easy.” At home, she loves zooming around the yard, watching squirrels, playing in the hose, and stretching out into her signature “frog dog” pose. Elsie does have a sensitive side and is looking for a confident, patient home that will help her feel safe and supported. She can be wary of new people, especially men, but with slow, proper introductions and consistency, she warms up and becomes affectionate (face kisses included!). Because of this, she’ll do best with a family that can advocate for her space and provide structure when guests visit. She’s very in tune with her environment and can be alert, sometimes taking on a “guard dog” role, but this is simply part of her nature, not aggression. She may also try to “herd” with gentle nipping at times (a common cattle dog trait), but she redirects well with guidance. Elsie is kennel trained (she’ll happily go in when you say “kennel” or “dinner”) and does best eating separately, as she has shown some food guarding with other dogs in the past. With this simple management, she’s done wonderfully. Elsie’s ideal home: Another playful dog (or dogs!) to be her best friend A patient, confident adopter committed to helping her navigate new experiences A home that will provide structure, mental stimulation, and lots of love Someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to earn it In return, Elsie will give you unwavering loyalty, endless companionship, and plenty of laughs with her quirky, loving personality. She is truly something special and she’s just waiting for the right person to see it. 💕 All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. Meet Breezy A 4-month-old Red Heeler mix with a soft heart and a love for snuggles! This sweet girl is happiest when she’s close to her people, soaking up all the cuddles she can get. Breezy is off to a great start for such a young pup, she’s potty trained and does well in her crate. Like any curious puppy, she can find a little mischief if shoes are left within reach, but with guidance and consistency, she’ll continue to blossom into a well-mannered companion. She has a gentle nature and would be fantastic with kids, making her a wonderful addition to a family home. Breezy prefers to keep her distance from cats, so a feline-free household would be best for her comfort. When it’s playtime, Breezy loves squeaky toys and chasing balls, but she’s just as happy curling up beside you afterward. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and cuddly pup to grow with your family, Breezy is ready All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped.
