Story
Location: Arlington, MN Hi, my name is Shadow. I am a very smart girl who likes every person I meet. I'm good around all ages of kids, but really don't play with them unless they initiate play with me by throwing my ball...and do I love to play ball! I would love a back yard of my own where I can fetch a ball or just relax. I love being outdoors! When I am indoors I love to hang out with my family and enjoy snuggling. I don't need a kennel because I am very independent and I will let you know when I need to go outside for a bathroom break. I enjoy taking walks in a quiet neighborhood, especially close to nature. Did I tell you that I love to play ball? I currently live with my foster mom & dad, two super mellow dog brothers and two cat sisters. I love running after my little cat sister and playing. I can relax with cats, but if they run, I think they want me to play with them. I do need slow introductions to other dogs, and if they are mellow, we will get along just fine. I don't like to be in new places where there are a lot of new dogs. I prefer the quiet life at home with my family, but do love car rides and meeting new people. I already know how to sit, stay, speak and would love to learn more if you are willing to teach me. ------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Hi! My name is Chevy and I am from a shelter in Arkansas. Chevy is without a doubt one of the sweetest puppies I've ever met. He's ~5 months old and is learning how to be a puppy! He was a little timid when I first picked him up but his personality is starting to come through. He's incredibly curious about everything, is always sniffing around and wondering what food I have. He is smart, learns things very quickly, and listens well: He already knows sit and down; is pretty good at the recall command and stay; and we are continuously working on leave it and waiting until my signal that he can have food/treats (he is getting better everyday). He will probably try to take your food so keep it out of reach until he learns to leave it alone! I've hardly ever heard him bark but he does whine, especially if you put him in a kennel/playpen or leave the house. The whining has died down a lot since I got him a week ago as he gets used to the new environment. He is not a fan of the kennel or a playpen (really anything that keeps him in one individual space) - he's tried to jump/climb over the playpen before. He usually settles down after a little while though. He is learning how to play from my resident dog, so I think he would really benefit from a sibling to teach him the ropes (not required though). On our walks he seems unbothered by people and other dogs - he may pull on the leash a bit when he sees a dog but usually will revert his attention back to you when asked. Loose leash training is still a work in progress. Potty training is going really well, he only had a couple accidents the first day and now waits to go until you take him. All he wants is to be near you! He loves to take naps by you and will follow you around everywhere. Sometimes I turn around and he's sitting staring at me with those puppy dog eyes and my heart melts a little bit! Any family will be lucky to have him!

Story
Hi! My name is Ford and I am from a shelter in Arkansas. Ford is a sweet and silly puppy that loves to play as much as he loves to nap. He will get his energy out by playing fetch in the backyard or running around with his crinkle toys then happily go to his bed and either nap or chew on his bone. He is doing great with potty training and hasn't had a single accident in the house - he will even let out a little whimper to go outside to go potty. I work from home so he is on a schedule which helps. He doesn't love his crate and will cry but we are working on making it a place he is ok going in when I leave (he is eating his meals in there and getting a kong with peanut butter when I leave). At night he has been sleeping with me or on a dog bed as he came with a pretty bad cough and his whining in the crate only made it worse but he has been totally fine being left out at night. He is still a little scared and loves watching and learning from my dog that things are ok so I do think he would benefit from another dog friend in the home to both play with but also learn from. Ford LOVES to play and will zoom around my dog trying to entice him but is very respectful in his attempts and will happily go play by himself if he can't convince him to play with him. So far Ford has been the easiest foster I have had and would be the perfect second dog for a family looking for a goofy, sweet, couch potato.
