Story
Gentle Ben's estimated DOB is 06/12/2015 and he's a white and brown Red Heeler. He was found tied to a boat with a steel cable - he had deep injuries on his neck as a result from this cable digging into his skin. Regardless of how badly he was treated in the past, Gentle Ben is a sweet and happy boy these days! Ben adores all the attention he can get from his humans! This gentle boy can be shy and hesitant to trust new people but once that bond is made he is right by your side. This gentle soul does well in a crate at night and when recently in a foster home needed a few reminders about house training but seemed to pick up quickly on it. Ben has been known to pester cats and small animals so would do best as the only animal in the home. Ben can jump a regular chain-link fences, so he will require a privacy fenced home or leash walks. We would love love love to see someone take a chance on this perfect boy. He has gotten so used to life at the shelter that he seems to have given up on the possibility of a forever home, and doesn't show his true self when he's out at adoption events or meeting new people. Those of us that he knows well can attest that he is truly the sweetest, goodest boy! All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week. For more information, please email us at havenozarksanctuary@gmail.com, or give us a call at 417-835-3647.

Story
Spot is a playful cattle dog mix. He is housetrained, crate trained, and does good on car rides (he actually loves them!). He will let you know when he has to potty by going straight to the door and whining. When you tell him "go to bed", he'll go right into his kennel and relax. Spot is a little dog selective, so a meet and greet with potential fur siblings is a must! He has gotten along great with two other male dogs at this point. We think he wasn't treated right by men at some point in his life, because he is very nervous when they put their hand over his head to pet him. While he can learn to trust them, he needs patience and not someone that will immediately start pushing boundaries. New people coming into his home makes him nervous as well, so a home where he can chill out in his kennel when guests are around, or one where guests aren't frequent, would be best for this pretty guy. Spot is a cuddle-bug once he is comfortable, and an overall good boy, he just needs the right home! pot - who knows the name Hank now, is a playful cattle dog mix. Story
Rosalie and her littermates were brought to us after they had been discovered under a mailbox in a cardboard box! At only 9 weeks old, these 6 sweethearts were christened the Twilight litter. All but brother Carlisle and Rosalie have found their forever homes. From the start, these guys were typical confident heeler puppies. Easy to train with lots of food and toy motivation, they were so much fun to observe as they all wrestled and played together. From the get-go, Rosalie was the smartest and most active in the litter. She's always been spunky and independent, using her big brain to outsmart techs and find a way to stay outside longer. Although she remains obviously intelligent, she is willing to compromise more! She's got a great automatic sit for treats and is working on stay too. She's loving playing with frisbees and has figured out that the game of fetch does indeed include bringing the toy back. She's also getting better at keeping a clean kennel. She's ready to get out of here and live the next stage of her life in a home. Rosalie has stayed the smallest of her litter, and we would be surprised if she gets much bigger at all. She's got permanent puppy face and is oh-so-cute when posing for photos. This little diva knows that she's a star in the making. She's coming up on her first birthday, and our biggest birthday wish for her is that she gets to spend it with a family of her own. Come give Rosalie the chance to worm her way into your heart. Email adopt.ffaa@gmail.com with any inquiries about her, or walk in during our open hours and ask to meet her!

Story
Carlisle and his littermates were brought to us after they had been discovered under a mailbox in a cardboard box! At only 9 weeks old, these 6 sweethearts were christened the Twilight litter. All but sister Rosalie and Carlisle have found their forever homes. From the start, these guys were typical confident heeler puppies. Easy to train with lots of food and toy motivation, they were so much fun to observe as they all wrestled and played together. Carlisle was the biggest in the litter, and oh-so-handsome. This boy has always had a steady head on his shoulders, a good middle-ground combo of everything that makes up his siblings. Smart, playful, and spunky, but also grounded, cuddly, and calmer than the average heeler pup.Carlisle was able to attend a meet and greet event as a much younger puppy where he was very friendly with all the dogs we brought and was more than social and affectionate with all of the strange humans he got to meet too! When it was time for him to take a break in his crate, he was quiet, mannerly, and entertained himself by chewing his bone. Carlisle consistently displays friendliness to strangers and to the other dogs in the shelter. He's getting pretty good at his leash-walking skills, and he's so smart that all you have to do is hold a treat up in the air and he's sitting down, no words needed! He's getting much better at keeping a clean kennel. He likes to play with his sister and with staff, most recently enjoying playing with frisbees. Carlisle is smart, sweet, medium-sized dog nearing his 1st birthday. There's nothing that makes us sadder than knowing that he may spend it in the shelter without anyone of his own to celebrate it with. He has been overlooked so often despite his fantastic personality and his dashing, handsome looks. Carlisle really has it all; he just needs the chance to prove it. Could you be the one he's been looking for? Email adopt.ffaa@gmail.com with any questions about Carlisle, or pop in during our open hours to meet him!
