Story
Gentle Ben's estimated DOB is 06/12/2015 and he's a white and brown Red Heeler. He was found tied to a boat with a steel cable - he had deep injuries on his neck as a result from this cable digging into his skin. Regardless of how badly he was treated in the past, Gentle Ben is a sweet and happy boy these days! Ben adores all the attention he can get from his humans! This gentle boy can be shy and hesitant to trust new people but once that bond is made he is right by your side. This gentle soul does well in a crate at night and when recently in a foster home needed a few reminders about house training but seemed to pick up quickly on it. Ben has been known to pester cats and small animals so would do best as the only animal in the home. Ben can jump a regular chain-link fences, so he will require a privacy fenced home or leash walks. We would love love love to see someone take a chance on this perfect boy. He has gotten so used to life at the shelter that he seems to have given up on the possibility of a forever home, and doesn't show his true self when he's out at adoption events or meeting new people. Those of us that he knows well can attest that he is truly the sweetest, goodest boy!All of our pets are fixed, up to date on their vaccinations, and microchipped. The Haven of the Ozarks is open form 9am-4pm, seven days a week. Story
Pixel is a bubbly 2-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix. She's on the smaller side, weighing around 38lbs, but she has a large and fun personality. She LOVES playing fetch and will play until you can't play anymore! She's an energetic girl that would love an active family, and a backyard is only a bonus for her. Come throw a ball for her, and you'll become best friends in no time! Once she's done playing, she'll cuddle with you all night long. Pixel prefers no cats or kids in her future household. She would do best with dogs her size or larger and will need to meet them before going home! This sweet gal is ready for a forever family!

See Emmie live in action: https://www.swh.org/staff-favorites.htmlMeet Emmie! Emmie is a 1-year-old, 55lb American Blue Heeler mix. She is a very playful and sweet girl and will never turn away pets! She loves attention and being told she's a good girl. She's an active dog and would love a space such as a backyard or dog park to exercise in. Emmie is dog-friendly and would just prefer no cats in her future home. She is friendly overall but due to her size and activity level, we recommend no young kids/toddlers with her. If you are looking for an active dog who you can take running, hiking, or just out and about, Emmie may be the perfect match for you!
