Story
Behavior or Medical Concerns - Not good with cats BIO - Rick is a spirited and energetic boy with great manners and a love for running and water! As a puppy, he was found abandoned with his mother and siblings. He was later adopted, but after his family tragically lost their home in a fire, Rick was surrendered due to challenges with temporary housing. Rick is house, crate, and leash trained, making him a fantastic companion. He’s full of energy and loves to play, so he’d thrive with an active owner who enjoys hiking, running, and outdoor adventures. He also enjoys attention and affection and loves to be brushed! Rick plays well with other dogs and was very gentle and submissive with a younger female dog. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous sidekick, Rick is ready to join you on your next journey!

Story
Pips is a young and healthy Cattle Dog / Border Collie mix, 50 lbs weight, with blue heeler coloring. When I rescued him in February of 2023, the vet estimated him at 2 years old, making him 3-4 years old now. He was already neutered when I adopted him, and I have kept him up to date on all his vaccines. He takes one capsule of anxiety medication every morning. He's a sweetheart with all kinds of people, extremely eager to please, loves cuddles and head-butts, and very food motivated for easy training. He has typical high energy for the breed and loves to run. He was skittish and dog-aggressive initially, but has calmed down significantly with dedicated training. He is now mostly only reactive when leash walking, but his high energy and playful nature can sometimes frighten smaller or older dogs. I'd love for him to find a permanent home with lots of yard space or a farm to run around, or an active owner that wants to include him in frequent outdoor activities.

Story
Meet Nora! Nora is a petite and sweet 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix that weighs about 30lbs.. She loves her foster siblings (3 dogs and a cat).  Nora is interested in the cat, but she is not aggressive and backs away when told. Nora is fully housebroken and sleeps on a dog bed at night.  A secure fenced yard would be a plus as she loves to be outside and run and play with other dogs.  She really likes to be with her person and would love to snuggle on the couch at the end of the day.  Nora can be a little shy at first, but she is a wonderful, sweet girl and has come a long way in a short time. Nora's ideal home would be with a woman, as she can be a bit skittish around men. If you are a patient, caring woman, looking for a loyal companion, Nora hopes you apply, because she can't wait to meet you!    Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2266161##

Story
This sweet girl, Lucy, is a Cattle Dog rescued by Piedmont Animal Rescue from Western NC, and her journey is nothing short of inspiring! When she first came into foster care, she was completely shut down and terrified of the world around her. But with love, patience, and the companionship of her foster brothers and sisters, she’s blossoming in ways we couldn’t have imagined thanks to our partners at Elevation K9 Training. Her Amazing Progress: • She plays and seeks out engagement from people she once feared. • She’s building confidence with every new field trip and exposure to the world. • Lucy has learned “heel”, and will trust your guidance while she’s there. • She will go new places with you and hang out on her “place” where she feels safe.  This beautiful girl still has some learning and growing to do, but her progress shows she’s on the path to becoming a wonderful, loyal companion. She’s looking for a forever family that can continue helping her discover how amazing life can be. Could you be the one to show her the love and stability she deserves? Lucy is dog friendly, and would thrive with siblings! She is cat neutral, and has shown indifference to her cat sibling. Lucy LOVES the water, and will swim as long as you let her. She is a great hiking companion, and doesn’t mind running short distances with you either. This girl loves to go places. She is nervous in a new environment, but does better with each new exposure to it. She loves to hang out at Coffee republic on “place” and thoroughly enjoys a good pup cup. She would love to be your best loyal companion! Lucy's adoption fee includes a MANDATORY series of training to ensure ongoing success for her and her new humans.  ($1,000 value) Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications. Story
Tucker is around 6 months old and unfortunately our schedules have changed and we are not able to provide him the time and training we originally anticipated. He needs someone who is able to be with him the majority of the day or somewhere he is able to stay outside as he does not like the crate and will become destructive. This breed is a working breed so he needs to be able to be challenged physically and mentally . He is the sweetest boy, a great cuddle buddy and very much a one person dog! He has done great with other dogs however he does need a little bit to warm up to them, he has never been around cats so we are not sure how he would do.
