Brody is that rare, wonderful balance of being active enough to enjoy outdoor adventures and mellow enough to fully embrace a lazy day of Netflix and cuddles. Whether he’s chasing a toy in the backyard or melting into your side with his signature tongue-out smile, Brody is the definition of a lovable goofball. He doesn’t mind getting dressed up for holidays or themed events—he’s happy to strut in his rodeo best or festive costume, just as long as he’s doing it with his people. Brody has done best with friendly, laid-back female dogs and tends to prefer a more relaxed playmate. Because of his size and love for running, he may be a bit much for smaller or more timid dogs, but he’s also fully content being your one-and-only pup, as long as he has space to stretch his legs and get some zoomies out in the yard. Currently in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS, Mylo is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved and ready to fall in love. Let’s start with the obvious: Mylo has a perma-blep. That’s right—his tongue is just a little too long for his mouth, and it’s almost always peeking out like he’s mid-lick or permanently saying, “hi.” A vet has checked it out and confirmed there’s nothing wrong—he was just born with extra tongue and endless flavor to sample. It doesn’t cause him pain, but it does mean he occasionally needs a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage—again, no cause for concern, just more proof that this boy was truly “born this way.” We like to say he’s one part goofball, one part model, and 100% original. Mylo is an affectionate, silly, and curious guy who loves to play and explore. He has a bit of that classic Cattle Dog energy—he thrives with daily activity, enjoys long walks, and loves a good romp in the yard. He plays well with dogs of all sizes and currently lives in a multi-dog home with pups ranging from tiny Chihuahuas to an 80-pound Boxer mix. He does well reading other dogs’ social cues and adjusts his play accordingly. He’s also very vocal when he plays or gets excited—growling, grunting, and making silly noises are just part of his charm. Once you get to know him, you’ll realize it’s just his voice, not a sign of anything aggressive. He enjoys meeting new dogs on walks, though he might sound a little intense at first—again, that vocal streak—but he’s friendly and well-mannered. He’s shown some interest in chasing cats, so to be safe, a feline-free home is best. Mylo has met children of various ages through his foster family and has done well overall. Due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm, we recommend a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog. He’s loving and playful, and with continued positive training, will only improve his manners. This boy LOVES walks and has a zest for getting out and about. He can pull on leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader may help make walks more enjoyable. He’s fully house trained and has been trusted to stay loose when unsupervised, usually sticking to his gated area and dog bed like a gentleman. He’s also very smart and responsive to redirection. He listens when called, loves being praised, and wants so badly to be a good boy. Like many herding breeds, he thrives on routine and benefits from clear communication and a bit of structure. He may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects (like a broom), so a patient home that understands his background and lets him settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best. Buzz is a Bulldog Mix with a big heart, a goofy personality, and an endless supply of love to give. Ernie, formerly Max, is a neutered, 8 year old male Pittie/Cattle Dog mix, currently weighing around 63lbs. He is in a foster home in Houston, TX, and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is found. Ernie was found by his foster mom running down a busy street in rush hour traffic. She saw him almost get hit and literally took off her heels to run over and get him in the car. It was obvious by the way he jumped right in and his good health, that he was previously owned. Unfortunately, despite being microchipped, the owner didn’t want him back. We have gathered that Ernie is about 8 years old and was initially adopted from a county shelter back 2020. He was clearly loved at one time as he was HW- and never met a stranger. We will never know why his owner never came for him, but Ernie is a true gem of a dog and we can’t wait to see him find his true forever home. This handsome pup is a goofy older gentleman! He is very chill but also gets excited for a walk or play date. He’s done great with every human and animal he’s met, and just wants to be wherever you are. Ernie gets excited when he sees other dogs, wagging his tail and hoping you let him say hi! He’s a gentle play mate, just wanting to be included in the group and will go with the flow. He’s been great with dogs half his size, and lets his foster sibling, a little Aussie, boss him around. The dog sitter has a cat that he hasn’t formally met, but has seen from across the way. He seems interested in the cat, but not in an aggressive way. We think he would be fine with cats that don’t mind him wanting to say hi. Ernie hasn’t been around kids but is extremely gentle. His foster believes he’d enjoy a home with them as long as they are aware he is a bigger boy. Ernie is house broken and does great on a leash. He doesn’t enjoy the crate and will try to escape. Thankfully, he isn’t destructive when left unsupervised. If he knows you’re home while he’s in the crate, he will whine or howl for a few minutes, but calms down with a treat or verbal commands. He is a social guy and really enjoys time with his humans, following you room to room. His favorite spot is right next to you! His foster mom feels Ernie would be a great fit anywhere. He’d do well with kids, with or without other pets in the house, an older couple, or even a first time dog owner. Trudy is an approximately 1-year-old Australian Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix with a fun-loving personality, endless enthusiasm, and a heart that's ready to bond deeply with her person. She's an intelligent, active girl who thrives when she has both physical exercise and mental enrichment, making her an excellent match for someone familiar with working breeds. Trudy is doing wonderfully in foster care and loves having a routine. She is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained. She has had zero accidents in her crate or in the home, sleeps quietly through the night in her crate, rides exceptionally well in the car, and is highly food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. She already knows "sit" and is working hard on learning come, touch, down, place, and off. She's eager to learn and responds well to guidance and redirection. This sweet girl is full of personality! She's obsessed with toys and bones, loves to play, and has a confident, curious nature. Trudy is affectionate with the people she trusts and forms strong bonds with her family. She's what many would call a "Velcro dog"—she loves being close to her favorite people and is happiest when she's included in everyday life. She even gives adorable little affectionate nibbles to show her love! Because Trudy is still young, she's continuing to learn good house manners. She's working on things like keeping all four paws on the floor and leaving counters alone. She's doing great on leash and continues to improve every day. Like many Australian Shepherd mixes, she benefits from consistency, structure, and plenty of outlets for her energy and intelligence. Trudy gets along great with other dogs and absolutely loves playing with her foster siblings. She would do best in a home with active, playful dogs who enjoy running around and having fun together.
