Story
Meet Dixie Dixie is a beautiful Cattle Dog weighing about 45 pounds and around 2 years old. She’s an amazing mama who raised 11 puppies, and now that her job is done, it’s finally her turn to find a loving forever home. Dixie is a super sweet, gentle soul who is very laid-back and a bit timid at first. She listens extremely well and lextremdlt smart! Leashes are still a mystery to her—she doesn’t quite understand them yet and may cry when one is on—but with patience and reassurance, she’ll continue to learn. So for now, a fenced yard is a must for her.  She loves having room to roam and would thrive in a home where she can stretch her legs and enjoy her surroundings. Dixie does wonderfully running on the farm at her foster home and shows no interest in horses or cats. She also does well with other dogs. Dixie is a loyal, quiet, and affectionate dog who would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, devoted friend with a gentle heart. After everything she’s done for her pups, she’s ready to be someone’s everything. One important note: Dixie loves chickens --a little too much, so a chicken-free home is a MUST  for this girl (she’s made that very clear ). Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you.
