Story
Stuart is named this because he is SO smiley! Like his namesake, he is here to tell you that doggone it, people like you! Stuart was a shelter favorite where he came from in Bladen County - they knew he'd be a great dog and they were right. Stuart is a buddy dog, meaning if your dog wants a submissive buddy to play with and cuddle, he is a great one! Stuart is still working on being okay with humans, but he takes cues from the other dogs around him who validate that humans aren't so bad! This cattle dog mix is small, and much cuter in person. Please apply for Stuart Smiley by going to apply.neshamarescue.org

Sky is a gentle soul. She's kind, affectionate and just wants to hang out. If she can't curl up on you, she's happy to curl up on her bed and relax. She's also quite the lady. Sky glides, she does not walk; Sky prances, she does not run. Although she's bright she can also be a space cadet and goofy, but can't we all! House/Potty trained but still learning some basic commands. Sky sleeps in her crate all night. Story
Hi there, I’m Jasper, a black and tan mix with soulful eyes, bandit brows, and a velvet-soft coat. I’m about 1 year old, 45 pounds, and neutered. I’m heartworm positive but am being treated and doing very well. I’m also house trained and patient. I’m smart and am learning basic commands and how to walk nicely on a leash. I’m laid back for a young guy and a friendly, sensitive soul. I’m good with people and dogs and love to play with my buddies once I’ve warmed up. I’m treat motivated and smart, which makes me a great candidate for training. Once I know and trust you, I will listen attentively. I can compete for food and treats, so I should be fed separately to feel safe. Having been a stray, I appreciate knowing my food and treats are actually for me. And I will love you for it. One of my talents is the ability to jump high fences. Six feet is nothing to me! Thus, my new home should have a very high fence, or be good with leashed walks. I would be an ideal apartment dog for someone who works from home. I will quietly hang out with you and keep you company. I would also enjoy a dog sibling to play with and love my squeaky toys and chews when it’s play time. I can howl mournfully when other dogs are walked without me or if I am crated. I don’t like missing the action! Sometimes I still chew on things, being young, so a watchful eye or crate training would be helpful. If you set a routine with me, I will be chill. If you think you are the one for me, let’s meet.
