Story
Hello, I was named Rocket because I am fast! I'm considered a blue Australian Cattle dog. I came from a cattle ranch in rural Florida that bred me and my family. How cool is that? I used to have a lot more space to be active in FL but my mom is in the military and had to come to someplace called Fayetteville, NC and get deployed. We used to run together. I've been less active and had to spend a lot of time in my crate at grandma's house, so I'm embarrassed to say I've put on a few pounds. I'm only 5 and still have lots of energy. I LOVE to play catch and must brag that I actually return and drop the ball! I want to play more! I am smart and my mind is very active. I need someone who will run and play with me or give me a job. Did I mention I came from a cattle ranch family? They tell me I'm purebred but the ranchers docked my tail for safety Reasonsbeing around the cattle so the AKC won't recognize me. Their loss folks, their loss! My foster mom is trying to trim me down with regular exercise and something called vegetables. The green beans are disgusting but I am trying to like the carrots and cucumbers. She's also working on my social skills and barking. She has some annoying dog bark sound on her phone when she gets texts messages! And I shouldn't be barking back? She also has a loud clunkyprinter in her office that makes really weird noises. I investigated and found no threats. My foster dad usually walks me and I am very good on a leash. He says I have really good manners and am nice to other dogs. I go right into my crate when I am asked to each night to sleep. I whine a little because I do like to be with my humans but I settle down quickly. I eat nicely and take treats softly, but I may slobber a bit on the water! I'm worth all your love!

Story
Sky is a gentle soul. She's kind, affectionate and just wants to hang out. If she can't curl up on you, she's happy to curl up on her bed and relax. She's also quite the lady. Sky glides, she does not walk; Sky prances, she does not run. Although she's bright she can also be a space cadet and goofy, but can't we all! House/Potty trained but still learning some basic commands. Sky sleeps in her crate all night. Sky is Approximately 5 years old and possibly a Red Heeler mix.  Apply to meet Sky at pipsrescue.org/adopt ##1637901##

Story
I found this sweet girl near Kimball Point at Kerr Lake, close to the Virginia border. Asked nearby neighbors but no one claimed her. She had no collar and checked her for a chip - NONE. I want to find her a responsible, loving home with a fenced in yard and room to run, someone that is going to pay her lots of attention and love her, spay her and take care of her good health and medical needs. She is: Quite well mannered! Very friendly! Such a lover! Gives great hugs! Loves, loves, loves to ride in the car! Loves to play ball and fetches pretty good! Around 40 lbs. Loves a bath in the shower! Potty trained, uses my dog door to go out in fenced yard on her own without me directing her to do so. Has been a good girl when I have left her in the house for 2-3 hours. Loves to sleep on my couch and bed with me. (I'm such a sucker! Ha-ha!) Has tons of energy and needs lots of exercise! Think she is 6-8 months old. Of course she loves treats and chew toys!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sid is a fun guy with big ears and lots of personality. He is very treat motivated and a quick learner. He loves to cuddle and be with his person.  This handsome canine friend has a leash aggression trait, which means that he thrives best in a home where he can be the sole dog. Sid's ideal environment includes a fenced yard, allowing him the space to explore, play, and enjoy the outdoors in a secure setting. In his foster home, Sid has shown great compatibility with other dogs. However, it's important to note that when meeting new canine friends while on a leash, Sid might take a bit of time to warm up. Patience is the key with Sid, as he transitions from cautious to comfortable when introduced to other dogs in a controlled manner. Sid's journey has shaped him into a loyal and loving companion, and his unique needs add a layer of charm to his personality. While he may need some time to build trust with other dogs, the rewards of having Sid as part of your family are immeasurable.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 10:26 am

She would be perfect for someone who is looking for a young, active dog. Lexi is a little over one year old and she is housetrained. She would do great alone or with other dogs. If you’re someone who likes to stay active and have a companion, Lexi might be the dog for you! Update:  Lexi is going to start agility training! Story
We adopted Draper from a shelter in VA at 8 weeks old. His mother and siblings were found under a trailer very sick in the cold. Sadly, His mother and 4 of his siblings died. Draper is incredibly smart and loving. He has anxiety that we started treating at 2 years old. We have an older dog in the home and they have occasional issues but in general cohabitate. Draper also plays with day care dogs in a rural setting with an experienced dog trainer. We often visit the mountains and notice a complete positive change with Draper when he is out of an urban setting. He is happy and playful and free. We believe he needs a more rural setting than our urban home.
