Meet Alabama, one of the lucky ones! Just a month later, he was already beginning to trust, explore, and engage with the world around him. Since then he has been fully vetted and graduated from training. He is now leash, crate and house trained, and knows basic commands. Alabama does well with other dogs and has been around cats and house/pet pigs with no issues. We would recommend teens+ given that Alabama is still a work in progress. Fenced in yard highly recommended. While this 6 year old is not quite ready to snuggle on the couch just yet, we know that the journey with him will be full of heart, patience, and deep rewards. Alabama is searching for a hero of his own. Someone who understands that healing takes time and love, and who's ready to show Alabama just how good life in a real home can be. Could that be you? IDGSR Welcomes LIZZIE into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR LOCAL ADOPTION. ************** Hi there! My name is Lizzie and I'm a pretty German Shepherd/Cattle dog mix. I am located near Nashville TN and will be available for local adoption. Quick Facts Age: 5-6yrs old Kids: teenage or adult home preferred Dogs: good with large male dogs Cats: NO cats Training: needs obedience training 1. I've been with the rescue a long time, getting completely rehabilitated. I was found as a pregnant stray Memphis dog. I had never interacted with people so it's taken me a while to learn how to trust. 2. Since I've been in a foster home, I've learned that people aren't so bad. There are plenty of loving people out there and hopefully someone will want to adopt me. Maybe you? 3. I am timid, reserved, and shy. It does take me a while to decompress & open up but please don't give up on me. I am a wonderful girl with lots of love to give. 4. My new home needs a fenced in backyard where I will be safe to play & explore. I'd love a nice large male dog to play with and it will also help build my confidence. 5. If you are looking for a loyal companion, one who is house/crate trained, resilient, quiet, and has so much love to give - please consider adopting me. **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY! Story
Meet Clark! Clark is an adorable and sweet Blue Heeler that is approximately 5 years old. He has typical dense heeler fur that he loves to have you scratch. He loves attention and can be ok with other dogs but would prefer to be an only dog. He has been exposed to cats and will leave them alone. He is not recommended for homes with small children because he can be protective of his food, treats, and people. He is overall just a sweet, cuddly, friendly, and fun little guy once he warms up to his person / people. It will take time for him to adjust in his new home so his new people need to be patient and loving. If you are looking for an only dog to be your bestest snuggle buddy or have other dogs that are also aloof, please submit an application at forrescue.net He is fostered in the Huntsville, AL area and any potential adopter must meet him here.

Story
Meet Emma! This sweet well adjusteud girl is ready to meet her forever family. Emma gets along well with other dogs and tolerates cats. She’s shy around new people, especially men, but if left alone, warms up quickly. Once past the introduction phase, she actually loves attention and will snuggle with you on the couch, even trying to sit on your lap! Because she’s an attention diva, she’ll do well as an only dog but doesnt have to be an only dog. So far, her only drawback is she doesn’t do well around young children. Their sudden movements make her nervous. Older kids, 10 and up should be OK. Emma is house and crate trained. She does well left on her own in the house, even for several hours or overnight. She walks well on leash, no pulling or lagging. Her energy level is medium to low. She enjoys laying on the deck watching for squirrels or bunnies. She’s a talker, and barks when excited or if she hears something, making her a good watch dog. Emma is spayed, up to date on vaccines.
