Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Betsie Ten Boom is such a beautiful pup! And she's just as sweet as she is pretty. We pulled Betsie and her sisters Corrie and Nollie from one of our local shelters when they were in CODE RED status with crates stacked in the halls, trying to avoid having to euthanize any dogs for no reason other than lack of space. Corrie has been adopted, but her sisters Betsie and Nollie are still looking for their forever homes. The family who adopted Betsie's sister Corrie did a Wisdom Panel DNA test which shows Corrie to be 46% Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler), 39% Great Pyrenees, and then 3% or less of a few other breeds. We're thinking that perhaps mom is the Heeler, since all three sisters have some Heeler characteristics, including Betsie's merle coat. The sisters look different enough from each other that it's possible they each had a different dad. Based on the dark markings on Betsie's face, it's possible her dad might be at least part Anatolian Shepherd or German Shepherd. But we have no way of knowing, unless you want to donate a DNA test for Betsie! Betsie plays well with other dogs and doesn't discriminate based on sex or size. Betsie goes into a 5' x 10' kennel willingly for meals and is getting accustomed to going into a wire crate for bedtime. She hasn't had any potty accidents in the house, but because she's young, we do make a point of giving her plenty of breaks to play and potty in the yard. We are working with her on leash-training, but we never have enough time to do as much training as we would like, so she will definitely need more practice. Still, she walks reasonably well for a dog who doesn't get much practice on a leash. Betsie is a very sweet girl who seems eager to please. She has learned the OFF command and has learned to sit for her meals and for treats. She is motivated both by treats and affection, and that usually helps with training, so if you enroll her in puppy class, Betsie should be a star pupil. Betsie has also so far proven safe with our chickens. Betsie is waiting to become part of a family! If you would like her to be a part of YOUR family, please fill out our application today at https://www.bluebonnetrescue.org/forms/form?verify=abc123&formid=3796.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 24, 2023, 12:32 pm

Story
Dusty is a driven but loving lap dog. He is very loyal to his person, and gets along well with his two pup siblings that he grew up with. He is shy, has thunderstorm anxiety, and is nervous around new dogs and people, but will warm up if you play fetch with him. He loves to run, play, but also lay in his bed, on the couch, or on your lap if you’ll have him for some butt scratches. He is 6 years old, neutered. I feel like he would thrive as an only-dog companion. We are also rehoming his fur-sister Rosie the red heeler. Can go together or separately.

Story
Rosie is a derpy 5 year old Red Heeler. She is very driven, but not the brightest tool in the shed. She loves to run and play with her fur-siblings, but doesn’t react well to new dogs. She loves her humans, butt scratches, and to chase squirrels. She will lick anyone and everyone, she loves to give kisses. She has never bitten anyone. She is a chunky little house dog right now but I know she would love a little land and to be an only-dog who gets all the attention. We are also rehoming her fur-brother Dusty the blue heeler. Can go together or separately.

Gus is 7 years old we believe. He's an old soul. House trained and lives belly rubs. I have become ill and can no longer take care if him. He came to us as a gift for my daughter. .
