Story
Meet Matrix! He is an approximately 1 year old, male, Heeler/Cattle Dog mix. He was found stray and never reclaimed at the shelter by his owner but is now safe and sound in foster care while he waits for his forever home.   He enjoys the company of people and appears to get along with other dogs. He's working on learning how to walk on a leash, house training and basic commands. He is full of loving energy and has a silly boy attitude! If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure they get along. Matrix would do best in a calm low key home. Matrix is learning what it means to be in a loving and caring home.  He is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and heartworm negative. If you are interested in providing a loving home for Matrix, please apply online we'll be in touch. His adoption fee is $275.  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
We call her Orphan Annie since we found her abandoned on a hiking trail. Sort of amazing now that we have gotten to know her and that she stayed in one place long enough to be rescued.Annie is probably a Stubby Tail Cattle Dog, very much an Australian Cattle Dog with an emphasis on being active and engaged. Annie is typical of the herding breed, meant to nip at others to direct where to go. For this reason, she would not be good in a home with young children and is the kind of girl who needs a job.Annie loves being active and into everything. She usually has two speeds, sleeping, and full blast; unless she is one-on-one with her human when she is totally engaged. She is smart and would be a terrific girl to train for just about any high activity - herding, agility, anything that keeps her thinking and able to get praise for doing the right thing. This beautiful, compact girl will give back 200 percent and is capable of complex tasks; high endurance and willingness to please. If you need a working companion to be part of your everyday life you could not find a better match. She is fully vetted, microchipped, spayed, and current with her flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Kiki is a love bug, wants to be devoted to her human(s), can be either one person or a family, she has enough love and devotion for her forever home, whatever that might look like. She lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone, but given the chance, she will choose to be with her human. She is crate- and house-trained, does great on a leash, and loves to go for rides. Though she is still a youngster, Kiki is the most laid-back Cattle Dog you could hope to meet while still having the total engagement and desire to please.Kiki is fully vetted - current with vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartwormprevention.

Story
Meet Scout City: The Handsome Hound Looking for His Forever Home! Introducing Scout City, our nearly five-year-old hound mix who's ready to find a loving forever home. Weighing in at a sturdy 87 pounds, Scout is a handsome and friendly boy who has faced a lot in his life but remains full of love and loyalty. Scout was born in our care in 2019 after his mom was brought to the shelter. Sadly, his mom couldn't leave the shelter due to protocol and contracted distemper, leaving Scout as the sole survivor of his litter. Adopted as a puppy, Scout's journey took a tough turn when he was abandoned by his adopter at the shelter following a breakup. Since then, Scout has been living in boarding, waiting patiently for his chance at a stable, loving home. Scout can be a little timid in new situations, but once he relaxes, his whole face lights up with joy. He loves toys and treats, and his happy-go-lucky nature makes him a delightful family dog. Scout does well with other dogs and enjoys both playing with canine friends and having quiet time by himself. This speckled dude is one of our favorites. He's a large, good-looking guy with a heart full of love to give. Although he has some separation anxiety, Scout's friendly disposition and desire to be a loyal companion make him a wonderful addition to any family willing to give him the time and understanding he needs. Scout is looking for a forever home where he can finally experience the stability and love he deserves. If you're searching for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will bring joy to your life, Scout is your guy. Adopt Scout City today and give him the forever home he's been dreaming of! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Meet Tyson — The Comeback Kid with Three Legs and a Heart Full of Love! Tyson’s story started with heartbreak but has become one of pure resilience and love. Found abandoned in a park at just 13 weeks old, Tyson had already endured more than most dogs do in a lifetime. He was badly injured and missing half of one leg. Despite the odds, this brave boy made an incredible recovery — and while his leg had to be amputated, it never slowed him down one hop! Tyson was adopted into a loving home, but after five wonderful years, his family’s circumstances changed, and they could no longer give him the time and attention he deserves. He’s now looking for a new forever family who can match his energy, love, and zest for life. He is around 60 lbs, a great Pyrenees/heeler mix. He would do best in home with no small children. He is a beautiful boy! Tyson is affectionate, playful, and endlessly loyal. He adores cuddles, naps on the couch, and just being near his people. He’s truly the definition of unstoppable — a reminder that life’s challenges can’t hold back a loving heart. Tyson would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family’s daily life, soak up attention, and enjoy walks or playtime (three legs and all, he keeps up just fine!).
