Story
Meet Matrix! He is an approximately 1 year old, 45lbs, male, Heeler/Cattle Dog mix. He was found stray and never reclaimed at the shelter by his owner but is now safe and sound in foster care while he waits for his forever home.   He enjoys the company of people and appears to get along with other dogs. He's working on learning how to walk on a leash, house training and basic commands. He is full of loving energy and has a silly boy attitude! If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure they get along. Matrix would do best in a calm low key home. Matrix is learning what it means to be in a loving and caring home.  He is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and heartworm negative. If you are interested in providing a loving home for Matrix, please apply online we'll be in touch. His adoption fee is $275.  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. You’ll never forget the look in their eyes when they realize they’re home.  When they start to trust you.  When they sleep soundly, knowing they’re safe.  Adoption isn’t just a good deed — it’s a miracle disguised as a second chance.  It’s proof that compassion still wins, that love can heal what was broken, and that we can make this world a softer, kinder, better place.  The benefit no one tells you about adopting.  You walk away saved too. Meet The Love Story Litter ❤ Some love stories never fade—they echo through time, capturing hearts for generations. This little family is our tribute to one of those timeless tales. At the center is Jackie, a devoted heeler mom who has poured everything she has into raising her five beautiful puppies. Gentle, watchful, and endlessly nurturing, Jackie has been their steady constant—the kind of love that doesn’t need attention, only devotion. Her puppies, now 8 weeks old, are ready to begin the next chapter of their own stories: ✨  Carolyn  – soft, soulful, and quietly affectionate, weighs 5 lbs. ✨  Caroline  – bright, curious, and full of gentle charm, weighs 5 lbs. ✨  JFK Jr.  – confident, playful, and a natural little leader, weighs 6.2 lbs. ✨  Jack  – easygoing, sweet, and happiest by your side, weighs 5.2 lbs. ✨  Kennedy  – thoughtful, observant, and full of quiet intelligence, weighs 5.9 lbs. Each one carries a piece of their mama’s heart, and together they are a reminder that love—true, steady, and unconditional—still exists in the simplest, purest forms. These puppies are being raised with care and are ready to go to their forever homes, if you are looking for an adorable new family member that will love you forever, be part of  The Love Story.  Jackie is also be looking for a home where she can finally be the one cared for, after giving so much of herself. If you’re interested in adopting, please complete an application on our website: legacyhumanesociety.org, and their foster mom will be in touch. If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this might be it—your own love story, beginning with a wagging tail and a loyal heart. ❤️ We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. Story
Amber and her sister, Margot, were dumped, and luckily, not like so many other dumped dogs that get killed or starve, they were picked up by someone in rescue. They have been together all their lives, and we would love to see them stay together if possible. So, please check out Margot too if you are interested in this sweet girl.Amber lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone. The girls sleep and eat in the same kennel and love to cuddle together. Amber has good house manners and is crate trained. She loves attention, even if she is a bit timid with new people. She is fully vetted, current with vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention.
We'll also keep you updated on Margo's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Margot and her sister were picked up as strays. Luckily, someone found them before they starved or were killed. She and her sister, Amber, have been together their entire lives, so we would love to see them adopted together, if possible. Both girls are athletic, but Margot so much that she can jump and climb over the fences at her foster home to go where she pleases. Luckily, she stays on her property and goes into different areas to play with the other dogs or her foster family. Her foster has not worked on trying to keep her contained, but this would be a concern until she could adjust to her new home; she does have excellent recall. We have a portable containment system to send with her for someone willing to work with that training.Margot lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone, including the livestock rescues. She has good house manners, is crate trained, and is working on walking on a leash. She is fully vetted - current with vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartwormprevention.
