Meet Matrix! He is an approximately 1 year old, male, Heeler/Cattle Dog mix. He was found stray and never reclaimed at the shelter by his owner but is now safe and sound in foster care while he waits for his forever home. He enjoys the company of people and appears to get along with other dogs. He's working on learning how to walk on a leash, house training and basic commands. He is full of loving energy and has a silly boy attitude! If you have another dog in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure they get along. We call her Orphan Annie since we found her abandoned on a hiking trail. Sort of amazing now that we have gotten to know her and that she stayed in one place long enough to be rescued.Annie is probably a Stubby Tail Cattle Dog, very much an Australian Cattle Dog with an emphasis on being active and engaged. Annie is typical of the herding breed, meant to nip at others to direct where to go. For this reason, she would not be good in a home with young children and is the kind of girl who needs a job.Annie loves being active and into everything. She usually has two speeds, sleeping, and full blast; unless she is one-on-one with her human when she is totally engaged. She is smart and would be a terrific girl to train for just about any high activity - herding, agility, anything that keeps her thinking and able to get praise for doing the right thing.This beautiful, compact girl will give back 200 percent and is capable of complex tasks; high endurance and willingness to please. Nelson is just one of the sweetest puppies there is. When he first came to the rescue he was struggling with a skin condition that took a little trial/error to figure out, despite this he never let it get him down or stop his happiness. He loves to play, then lay next to you and wants to be wherever you are. He's all round just an amazing puppy, with catching onto crate & potty training fairly quickly and easily. In another life, its suspected he was a bird watcher, as rather than walking around and sniffing on walks he's content just looking around and observing his surroundings while sunbathing. He's growing up to be around a medium size dog (estimated to get around 25 lbs). Nelson is a sweet little guy, calm and cuddly. He loves his toys and to play with other pups. He is learning sit and other tricks. He came into the rescue with a skin condition (non-contagious) and is almost healed. Nelson promises to be your best friend from day one. He is the epitome of the stereotype, a man’s best friend. He is brave, even when faced with scary shots from the vet. He loves to play, and everything he does is to make you happy. Margot and her sister were picked up as strays. Luckily, someone found them before they starved or were killed. She and her sister, Amber, have been together their entire lives, so we would love to see them adopted together, if possible.Both girls are athletic, but Margot so much that she can jump and climb over the fences at her foster home to go where she pleases. Luckily, she stays on her property and goes into different areas to play with the other dogs or her foster family. Her foster has not worked on trying to keep her contained, but this would be a concern until she could adjust to her new home; she does have excellent recall. We have a portable containment system to send with her for someone willing to work with that training.Margot lives with lots of other dogs and gets along with everyone, including the livestock rescues. She has good house manners, is crate trained, and is working on walking on a leash.She is fully vetted - current with vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartwormprevention.
