We call her Orphan Annie since we found her abandoned on a hiking trail. Sort of amazing now that we have gotten to know her and that she stayed in one place long enough to be rescued.Annie is probably a Stubby Tail Cattle Dog, very much an Australian Cattle Dog with an emphasis on being active and engaged. Annie is typical of the herding breed, meant to nip at others to direct where to go. For this reason, she would not be good in a home with young children and is the kind of girl who needs a job.Annie loves being active and into everything. She usually has two speeds, sleeping, and full blast; unless she is one-on-one with her human when she is totally engaged. She is smart and would be a terrific girl to train for just about any high activity - herding, agility, anything that keeps her thinking and able to get praise for doing the right thing.This beautiful, compact girl will give back 200 percent and is capable of complex tasks; high endurance and willingness to please. If you need a working companion to be part of your everyday life you could not find a better match.She is fully vetted, microchipped, spayed, and current with her flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Trenton is a 2.5-year-old neutered male Heeler/Hound mix with handsome red and white coloring and beautiful speckling that makes him just as unique as his personality.Trenton came from a situation where there were many dogs and very little positive interaction with people, so he is still learning what it means to feel safe and comfortable in a home. He will need a patient, calm owner who understands that he may need a longer decompression period and plenty of time to adjust at his own pace.He can be avoidant with people at first, but with patience, consistency, and some tasty treats, he may begin to come around. During a recent Doggy Day Out, Trenton did well in the car and calmly explored the home. Then he discovered the couch and quickly decided it was the best place on earth! He settled in for a long nap and even allowed his volunteer to sit beside him and gently pet him while he rested.Trenton would do best in a home with a calm, well-mannered dog who can help teach him how to “dog,” build confidence, and show him that affection from people can be a good thing. Introductions will need to be slow, and Trenton may seem indifferent toward another dog at first—and that’s perfectly okay. We rescued Mom while she was pregnant. She had a litter of eight puppies, but two still remain without loving homes. Tulip is a very energetic pup. She loves to run and would do well with a family that has a large backyard. She has shown an interest in swimming and will occasionally get in the water to play. She enjoys playing with her siblings and loves attention. She has been out of the house a few times and does well in new places and around new people, but she still needs leash training. She knows how to sit and lie down, and we are currently working on “stay” and “leave it.” She has received all of her puppy vaccines and is up to date on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.
