Story
Ace, one of our long-timers, is still looking for his person! He is a 6 year old Australian Cattle Dog/American Staffordshire Terrier/German Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix. Ace is the type of pup who only needs his person to be happy. When he has a human to love, he absolutely adores them. He prefers women, but we believe he could bond with a man in the same way with a little more time. Ace is not the type of dog to take to the dog park or out in a social setting, but he is also not the type of dog who needs that to be happy. If you think of it another way, he is just a homebody looking for a human homebody! He lacks confidence when meeting new people or when put in a new situation, so he is looking for a patient adopter who understands that things in this world are a bit scarier for him. However, once he knows he is safe, he loves with his entire heart. His favorite things are to lay at his foster mom’s feet while she works and even just be near her. He does not have separation anxiety, but he just truly loves to be around his person. Ace would thrive in a home with an adopter who is home most of the time and just wants a loyal and loving best friend to accompany them. Ace is in a foster home with other dogs and does fine with them. He is dog friendly but just a little awkward with other dogs because he doesn’t understand social cues. His ideal home would be as an only dog or with another mellow dog. Ace has been through obedience training and knows many commands. He walks great on a leash. He is also kennel trained and potty trained. We realize that Ace’s forever home is a tall ask, but we know that his person is out there somewhere. He is looking for someone who will give him a couple of weeks to open up because they know that it will be so worth it in the end. He has been with us for almost 4 years since being returned in 2020, and we want to finally see his happily ever after! Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee
Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee
Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
