Story
Are you a gentle person looking for a companion who is easy to exercise in your fenced yard and a wonderfully entertaining friend? That's ME! I’m Sydney, a small girl (27 lbs), 18 months old, spayed, healthy, vaccinated BC/Mini Aussie mix. I like training exercises (treats!) and learn fast! I sleep deeply through the night in my comfy crate and don’t mind spending a bit of time there during the day if you have to run errands (like getting me new tennis balls!) I have a busy mind, will bark at sudden noises (apartment living would not be a good fit). I can be picky about canine friends and not a good buddy for birds, cats, squirrels, rabbits, or small children. I am smart and sensitive, will follow you everywhere, look to you for guidance and comfort (and tennis balls). I truly want to please you. I am expressive, have the cutest wiggle butt you’ve EVER EVER seen, and if you love to laugh out loud, I’m your girl! I am currently in the DFW area and ready to be adopted! Apply for me at bcrrt.com.

Story
Howdy! I’m Winnie - the sweetest cattle dog in Central Texas! And I dare you to resist my sassy strut and wiggly tail nub! I’m a 6-7(ish) year old female Texas Heeler (that’s Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd if you were wondering). But don’t let my age fool you into thinking I act like a senior dog. I love playing tug and zooming around the yard with my foster brother! And afterward, I’m happy to chill with you on the sofa, or wherever you prefer to cuddle - because I LOVE a good cuddle with my humans! I’ve been with BCRRT since last year because when they found me, I was VERY pregnant and also heartworm positive. I was the best mama ever to 9 pups, but I’m happy to be retired from that and now I just play auntie to my kittty foster siblings - I’m great with them, as well as the chickens and any dogs or humans that I meet! I’m also crate trained and my foster mom says I’m a good girl on the leash and in the car. I'm all healthy now and ready to meet my furever humans. So if you’re ready to welcome all this charm and huggability into your home, apply to adopt at BCRRT.com

Story
Hi, I'm Penny! Don't you think I'm a cutie? I may have had a rough start, but thanks to my rescuers, life is looking up! Now, all I need is a loving family to call my own. I'm a happy, healthy girl who's eager to learn and grow. Very Treat Motivated. With a little guidance, I'll be the best companion you could ask for. I love to play, ride in the car, and I'm great with kids. While I haven't met any cats yet, I'm open to new friends! As for other dogs, I get along with most, but it's always best to meet beforehand. Plus, I'm a pro on the leash and can't wait to explore the world with you on walks!

Story
Meet Rover, a 1-year-old Cattle Dog mix with a playful and loving spirit. Weighing 35 lbs, Rover is a happy pup who adores being loved on and will eagerly sit for treats. He’s loyal and enjoys spending time with people, but he’s also content when left alone. Rover gets along well with dogs, though he prefers to meet them first to ensure they’re a good fit. He’s a delightful mix of “let’s play” and “give me my space,” bringing both fun and independence into your life. Rover isn’t overly hyper, but he’s young and benefits from having a good outlet for his energy. He’s great with kids and is well-behaved inside, making him a wonderful companion for a family looking for a loyal and playful friend. Story
***DFW area only-No Exceptions***   Gina is a 3 month old puppy who arrived at LHS after being found stray with significant burns. Gina has been in foster care healing from her wounds and is now ready to find her family. Her fur is regrowing and she’s ready to go! This survivor deserves the best home ever! Gina is a sweet girl who likes to play! She is a loving puppy who loves to play with just about any type of toy. She loves to fetch and loves squeaky and crinkly toys. She can play alone for periods of time and really likes to bring toys to her favorite human to play with her. Gina loves to play outside but currently needs to limit her time in direct sunlight to protect her skin from the intense summer sun. She is very smart and observant so she’s learning manners a little more every day. She is crate trained over night and for short periods during the day. She is working on potty training and is doing well with a potty routine and attentive adult. She enjoys the dogs in her foster home and does well with the cats in the home.      Current weight 11 lbs Projected weight 40+   We are requesting a donation of $325 for the adoption which includes her spay, three rounds of puppy vaccines, a rabies vaccine, microchip with registration, dewormer and a single dose of heartworm preventative. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. If you're interested in meeting or adopting her, please complete an application on our website and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours.  https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/   Adopter will take the puppy to an LHS approved vet to be spayed in August of 2024 per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance with Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code.  *Due to the high volume of applications and inquires for puppies as well as vetting needs, we will not be able to respond to or consider interest from that outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Area.  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
