Story
Saffron recently came to the shelter after being found as a stray dog. She was found under a deck with her litter of puppies. Her puppies have since grown up and moved onto new forever homes. Saffy is a pretty sweet little girl. She is very shy in the beginning and likes to take the sit back and watch approach to life. She is very treat motivated and enjoys spending time just watching what is going on around her. We don’t think she is going to do well around cats, or livestock. She will do ok with a male dog that isn’t invasive and won’t try to over power her. We will not be willing to place her with a female dog. She has no problems sticking up for herself. If you are interested in meeting her please don’t hesitate to email adoption@columbiahumane.org to obtain an application. Once we have an approved application on file we will then schedule a time for you to come and meet her. Her adoption fee is $300.00 that includes all her vaccinations, being spayed, current on flea treatment. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgApril 26, 2024, 8:34 am

Story
Bell is 8 years old and 26 lbs. The wonderful folks who saved her now need for someone to give her that only child love that she deserves. She is a sweet, loyal dog who will follow you around the house and curl up at your feet. She doesn’t get along with the pets in the foster home. Bell kinda wants all of the attention! She could adjust to sharing with another dog. She would prefer NO young children or cats in her home. She had a dental last May and is up to date on all of her shots and is spayed. She takes Fluoxetine to help with 'behavioral issues' (needs more exercise and stimulation, she's a herding dog...). Fill out an application at sccpets.com. Bell's adoption donation is $100.May 5, 2024, 9:55 pm

Story
Beanie is a 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler). She’s spayed and has all of her shots. She’s housetrained but does not get along with cats! She’s 50 lbs. These are the words of the owner/foster: Beanie is the sweetest cuddle bug! She loves hiking, camping, and being out in nature as well as being by your side and lounging on the couch. Beanie entertains herself and loves to throw her toys around, and also like to get outside and run! Beanie is well trained and aims to please - she always comes when called, knows all her basic manners and is house trained. She does great with kids and at the dog park, but does not like cats or skateboards. Beanie is gentle, shy, extremely submissive, and has some anxiety in new situations. She would do best as the only dog in a home or in a home with a really chill male dog. If you’re interested in adopting Beanie and giving this beautiful animal a forever home or have questions for owner, please fill out an application at sccpets.com (at no cost or obligation to you) Beanie's adoption donation is $200.May 5, 2024, 9:55 pm

Story
Violet is is an 8 year old castle dog/lab mix. She’s about 45 pounds, all black with a white key shape on her chest and big ears. She’s a sweetheart. Owner says he acquired her from a family member who was going to take her to the pound. She’s a wonderful dog. She gets along with cats and other dogs. It took her a couple days to get along when introduced to owners male dog but now they’re great. Owner loves her but taking her in was an emotional and ethical decision for him at the time. Having three large dogs along with farm animals and kids and all the rest, maybe not the best decision for him. Now you could be fortunate enough to have such a sweet canine companion in your life. You too are given an opportunity to be loved by this special girl Violet. Maybe you don’t already have two other dogs she has to share you with. Maybe you’re looking for a senior dog for the very purpose of giving her the easiest best last years of her life. If that’s you and you’re interested in adopting Violet please fill out an application at sccpets.com (with no cost or obligation to you). Her adoption donation is $145.May 5, 2024, 9:55 pm

Story
Dustin looks completely different from his mom and the rest of the litter! Saved from a rescue that got shut down in Mexico after people found out the absolute inhumane conditions the dogs were being kept in. He can be a little shy when meeting new people but for the most part he will give new people a smell and open right up. Dustin is very friendly with other dogs! He can be a bit vocal when he plays with other dogs but he plays nice. He can have a little more of an alpha personality over other dogs but he is not extremely alpha he can still be around other alpha dogs and have no problems. He is definitely a cattle dog mix and preferably looking for a home that has owned a herding dog before. Dustin is high energy and looking for an active household that is going to keep him stimulated and exercised! He would love to go on hikes, vacations, walks, and runs! Were not sure if our dogs are housebroken unless they get a foster home and unfortunately Dustin has never had an adopter nor a foster home. Were not sure why Dustin is always getting overlooked as we have had him since he was just a few weeks old! We have not cat tested him but we can on request. Due to his breed and energy level we are thinking he might not be the best with cats but again we have not tested him. If interested in adopting kindly fill out the application found here www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptionsMay 5, 2024, 5:50 pm
