Story
Meet Zeb, a striking male cattle dog with a resilient spirit and a heart that’s learning how to feel safe again Zeb came from a background of abuse, and because of that, he’s looking for a calm, patient, and understanding home where he can continue to heal—both emotionally and physically. He is generally friendly and wants to connect, but he can be unsure in unfamiliar situations. In the past, he has snapped at a well-meaning stranger, so he’ll do best with someone who can read canine body language, respect his boundaries, and help him feel secure at his own pace.Zeb also has some ongoing skin issues, but the good news is that they are improving with proper care and attention. With consistency and love, he’s already showing positive changes.Once you’re part of Zeb’s trusted circle, he truly shines. He is a wonderful, playful companion who enjoys engagement, companionship, and having someone he can rely on. Zeb is loyal, intelligent, and deeply rewarding for the right person—someone who understands that dogs with tough pasts often become the most devoted friends. If you have experience, patience, and a quiet home where Zeb can finally feel safe, you may just find an incredible bond waiting for you. &#226&#156&#168Adoption fee covers:&#226&#156&#133 Neuter&#226&#156&#133 Vaccinations&#226&#156&#133 Microchip&#226&#156&#133 Treated for fleas and worms Interested in meeting Zeb?Please email: adoption@columbiahumane.org for an application.Adoption Fee: $350For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgJanuary 14, 2026, 7:11 am

Story
Huck is a sweet playful and outgoing boy who had a lot of changes recently. His owners are getting divorced and moving. Huck has been great with kids, other dogs, cattle, goats, a horse, and cats! He is going through a lot and he is not currently enjoying being around a new to him 3 year old. The loud noises and stomping scare him, but did not before all the big changes. I’d recommend a household without toddlers. He loves being near someone and enjoys playing fetch. He is very sweet, house broken, loves car rides, and he is crate trained. Would prefer to rehome him somewhere with a yard. He will come with his crate, two in great shape beds, bowls and feeding mat, and several toys.

Good with kids, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
MJ is approximately 5 1/2 years old, spayed and weighs around 38 pounds. She is a mixed breed, possible cattle dog/lab mix. She has lived with a family of two younger kids (now aged 6 and 9) since she was nine months old. She is very sweet and playful. She likes to snuggle and does well on car rides. She loves to go for walks, hikes, and play fetch, and will often go on longer runs. She is house trained and likes to sleep in her crate at night. She is able to be on her own for several hours as her current owners work outside the home, and she does not seem to have separation anxiety. She has completed basic obedience training. Mary Jane is a nervous dog when it comes to loud noises (fireworks, thunder) and she takes time to warm up to new people and new dogs. She has gone to other homes for dog sitting, with other dogs present, and has done just fine after taking a few minutes to get comfortable. As the children have gotten older she has begun to show anxiety due to the children's friends coming in and out of the house. She has become territorial (aggressive barking, some jumping) in and near her house which has become a problem due to kids' friends stopping by and a neighborhood park across the street. Once she gets to know the house guests she is usually fine, but it takes time and some active steps to get there. Owners have done several in-home trainer lessons but do not have the time and focus that MJ deserves. She would probably do okay with another dog(s) in the home and actually may enjoy it. She is unknown with cats. Although she has done great with the kids in her current home, a home with no young kids would be ideal unless extra time is spent for her to adjust. Owners would be happy to pay for an in-home private lesson with a dog trainer to help her transition to a new home. Please fill out an application at sccpets.com (at no cost or obligation to you). Her adoption donation is $200.If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application.January 15, 2026, 12:16 am
