PERFECT DOG ALERT!! Adoption fee reduced for Senior love to $200 Dorothy (formerly Huckaby) – Proof That Love Changes Everything Dorothy’s journey hasn’t always been kind. She was dumped at a high-kill shelter in Stanislaus, where she quietly resigned herself to being unwanted. But her story took a beautiful turn when her incredible foster parents stepped in and gave her a brand-new leash on life (yes — we had to 😉). Since then, Dorothy has truly blossomed. She received the eye surgery she needed, was showered with love, patience, and comfort, and even formed an unlikely best friendship with a rehabilitating chicken. Somewhere along the way, Dorothy discovered the fountain of youth — and it turns out, it’s love. Now thriving, happy, and full of personality, Dorothy may not be a spring chicken… but she sure acts like one. She’s playful, affectionate, and ready to find her person — someone who will be her adventure buddy and continue showing her just how special she is. Dorothy is living proof that it’s never too late for a second chance — and she’s ready for her forever. 📍 Location: Stanislaus County, CA (currently in foster care) 🐾 Rescue: Grandma’s Barn Rescue & Sanctuary

Story
Hello! Meet Ralts a 1 year old kelpie mix who's got a lot of love to give. He's amazing on leash and incredibly food motivated. When you want to chill he loves to pretend he's a lap dog and will launch himself into your lap. He's been neutral to dogs in the shelter and reportedly gets along well with small dogs. A big old love bug looking for a home, does he sound like a good fit for you? Interested in adopting? Visit our shelter during open hours and ask about Ralts A062121December 15, 2025, 7:24 pm

Story
Peanut Butter is adorable, sweet, playful and very energetic dog! She loves to play outside and love cuddles and hugs! We adopted her in April and she is been super spoiled since then but unfortunately my special needs son had a seizure, a hospitalization and lots of complications after that. Our family is struggling with my son's situation and our sweet pet is not getting the care she needs and wants. Because of that complex situation, we don't have conditions to keep Peanut Butter. We are facing a hard family time and she deserves more attention that we are able to give her now. She still needs to be trained but she is doing a great job potty training. If you wants a lovely dog who loves kids and play, she is your girl!

These pups are in Lathrop, California too!

Story
This beautiful puppy was found on the side of a busy road with their siblings. We are not sure of the breed, but it looks very much like a Cattledog mix, which will be medium-sized when fully grown. Their story is one of both heartbreak and survival. The puppies had clearly been abandoned, left with no food, no shelter, and no one to keep them safe. Tragically, one of their siblings didnt survivestruck by a passing car before help could arrive. The surviving puppies were frightened and unable to fend for themselves. Fortunately, a kind person picked them up. When they arrived here, they relied on each other for comfort and were so scared. But in a very short amount of time, with the love and care of our staff, these resilient pups began to recover. Slowly, their tails started to wag and their playful spirits emerged. Today, each of them has a chance at the happy, safe life their sibling never got to experience. Their journey is a reminder of the harsh reality many animals in our community face, but also of the incredible resilience and hope that can grow when compassion steps in. She has an appointment on 10/8 to be spayed and can go home to her new family the very next day. She weighed 27 lbs on intake. $350.00 adoption includes the surgery, vaccinations, and microchipping. Story
Miss Willow is about a year old. She is nicely sized at 43 pounds. We aren't certain of her breed, but she looks like she has some Australian Shepherd in her mix of breeds. She was surrendered to Lathrop Animal Services, who had her for a few weeks. She got along great with all the dogs and was the sweetest of all the dogs in their care. We have also seen the same with us. She has been vaccinated and microchipped and will be spayed as soon as possible. She will make someone a great companion. Please come meet Willow! $350.00 adoption helps with the cost of her spaying and other care.
