Story
Aries was transferred to the Sac SPCA from a Southern California shelter in order for us to assist them following the fires. He is a 1-year-old, 45lb dog who loves other dog friends! Aries finds making new human friends a little overwhelming, he does best when he has a doggy friend to show him the ropes. Once comfortable, Aries shows off his affectionate, energetic personality. He is hoping to find a home with another dog friend and human friends who are willing to be patient and give him time to adjust.I don`t have a known history of living with other dogs, but I`ve enjoyed playing with them while at the Sac SPCA! I`d do best going to a home with at least one other dog friend to show me the ropes.I don`t have a known history of living with cats and may do well with a slow introduction.I would do best in a home without young children. If you are interested in this specific animal, please come to the shelter for walk-in adoptions Tuesday through Saturday from 10:30am to 5:30pm. We recommend coming in as early as possible, as adoptions are first-come, first-served.

Story
Fizz the Fuzz is ready to be your next friend! Fizz is estimated to be about 2 years old and has the perfect amount of energy to motivate you to go out on an adventure and also convince you to spend the afternoon cuddled on the couch. She is as sweet as can be and has quickly stolen our hearts with her ray-of-sunshine personality.  She has an infectious smile and she makes sure there is never a dull moment when she is around. Fizz currently weighs around 50lbs. She is fully grown but may fill out a little as she came to us underweight. Fizz came to us from a Central California shelter after being found as a stray. She waited a month there to be adopted and then found herself on the euthanasia list due to a lack of space at the overcrowded shelter. We are so grateful one of our foster families stepped up to take her in and we have been in love with her ever since. Fizz is a happy and curious girl who loves to explore the outdoors. She loves to be out and about and makes friends everywhere she goes. She would make a great brewery and hiking buddy. She loves to play and is the goofiest girl when she finds a toy she really likes. She has learned how to play fetch and it's a great way to help tire her out after a long day at work. Fizz is so smart and eager to learn, especially if a tasty treat is involved. She has done great with her basic manners training and has matured a lot while in foster care. She would benefit from some continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. Fizz needs a family dedicated to making sure she gets her daily exercise and mental stimulation. Fizz loves other dogs and would be a great playmate for an active medium/large dog. She could also do well as an only dog if she has lots of opportunities to make dog friends. She hasn't been to a dog park, but she seems like she could do well as a dog park/doggie daycare dog. Fizz thinks cats are a little too fun to chase and would do best in a kitty-free home. Fizz has done great with kids and could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years or older. Fizz has been doing great with her house and crate training. She tends to have accidents when in new places, but once she settles into a routine, she is good about going outside. She may whine a little when she first goes into her crate but sleeps through the night well and is content to hang out in there when her foster family is gone. Fizz has done well being home alone for short periods. Due to her size and personality, her ideal home would be a house with a yard. Despite her being a husky mix, Fizz is very quiet and only ever barks when she is excited and playing. Fizz is so deserving of the best home and we know it's out there. If you think that could be you, submit an adoption application today!   Fizz's adoption fee is $250.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. March 10, 2025, 12:50 pm

Story
Bubbas is so excited to meet you! He is a playful and high energy dog looking to go to an active family who will play the day away with him. Bubbas may be a good running companion for someone looking for an enthusiastic partner. He may have a lot of energy when he gets going, but Bubbas other favorite thing to do is sit on laps and relax with his family. Being pet and scratched is definitely the way to his heart! Some things make Bubbas anxious, so he would appreciate a family who understands this and is willing to work with him. Due to that anxiety, small children and Bubbas aren’t very compatible. Therefore, any children in his new home are required to be 10 or older. He is social and friendly and may do well with other dogs or cats in his new home after a slow introduction. His love and loyalty are unmatched, making him the perfect companion for those looking for a lifelong friend.Adoption Price: $200

Story
This is Sully or Sullivan. He’s a 7 year old Aussie. He is the sweetest most loving boy and loves humans. As much as it’s heart breaking to rehome him, he needs a life where he is the center of attention and the only animal in the house. Unfortunately, he doesn’t get along with our other pets, and we feel like it’s best for him to find a new home. Needs a home on property or a big backyard. Just looking to find the perfect permanent home for him where he can flourish! Please reach out if you have more questions.

Story
Koda is the best and most loyal dog! He was born on a farm and was the runt. He was a huge resource guarder the first year and is now a little foodie. He is 3 years old and super smart, learning any new tricks you decide to teach him. I take him on a 1-2 mile walk every day. When I am not home, he is besties with my teen and loves hanging out with my husband. Gramma watches him when I am at work. Koda Loves playing with other dogs, enjoying walks and the dog park and is nice to strangers. He thrives with a schedule and if you are home all day. I LOVE this dog but feel that I HAVE to put my daughter and husband first. At certain times when I am home he will sit outside my bedroom or bathroom door and guard me. My husband and daughter feel threatened when he does this. We have to put him in his room when making dinner or he guards the kitchen. He would be great in a one person home or an experienced person who loves a dog who can swim in the river and fetch for days.
