Meet Bell 💕 When you first meet Bell, she can be a little shy and unsure of her surroundings. She takes a moment to figure out what’s going on, but once she feels safe and comfortable, her whole personality shines. Out in the play yard, Bell comes alive. She’s full of happy zoomies, racing around with her tiny legs showing off just how fast she can go. It’s pure joy watching her let loose and enjoy herself. And when the fun winds down, Bell is all about the cuddles. She loves being held close, snuggled like a baby, and getting gentle pets, it’s truly her favorite thing in the world. Bell is looking for a patient, loving home that will give her the time she needs to fully come out of her shell. In return, she’ll give you endless affection, sweet moments, and a loyal little shadow ready for every adventure ahead. If you think you can be that person for her, Bell is more than ready to go home and start her next chapter with you. 💕

Story
Smokie is as handsome as he is well mannered. He originally came from a breeder and lived with a family (including 4 kiddos) for almost 2 years. When the family moved out of state, he was kept in a friend’s shed until the shelter would take him in. We’ve learned many things about this very good boy since coming under our care. Besides being house trained and knowing basic commands, he’s also good in the car, leash trained, and is up for any adventure. We’ve had a few field trips with Smokie to the Mueller area. He’s calm and confident and always says thank you for field trips by giving us cuddles. If you’re looking for a confident and handsome adventure buddy, he’s your boy! I’M NOT AT APA! yet, but I’m hoping my turn is coming soon. I’m currently at a partner shelter, and I’ve been placed on their Urgent Placement List - which means I’m one of their highest priority dogs to find a way out. I’ve been told that if someone steps up to foster or adopt me, APA! will bring me into their program and help me get ready for home life, so I'm just waiting to be chosen. All it takes is one person to change everything for me - email dog-foster-placement@austinpetsalive.org to be that person!

Cricket is a confident, independent dog looking for someone to take him on adventures! He's easygoing, walks really nicely on his leash, and knows sit and will do it very patiently for a treat. He's a really smart guy that likes the company of other dogs, enjoys pets, and while he may try to sit in your lap, he's not going to be glued to you. Nope - this boy isn't a stage five clinger at all. He's easy peasy, playful, and curious (but watch out, squirrels!). Cricket really is the whole package and anyone would be lucky to scoop up this uniquely handsome dude. Primary Color: Chocolate Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 60 Age: 2yrs 3mths 2wks

Story
When we say he's an "ace in the pocket", it's true.If you are looking for a calm, collected, well keeled pet, Ace needs to be on your short list. He's sharing his kennel with a dog friend nicely. He walks on a leash butter smooth, staying right by his person's knee, walking to their stride. He observes small critters in his vision lines, but does not take chase. He loves everyone equally, without feeling needy and overly affection seeking-he's happy to take your affections and affirmations, here and there. His coat is gorgeous. Let him practice his sit and down for you.Ask staff or a volunteer to bring him out for you to meet. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tri Color Weight: 76 Age: 6yrs 11mths 0wks

Story
One morning in May of 2025, we found Byron in a busy intersection at Howard and Gregg in Pflugerville. He was emaciated, patchy, dirty, and so sad. We took him to the vet and started our journey to getting him healthy and happy. They said he was 6 months old at the time, and weighed 22lbs. Right after finding Byron, we found out we were going to be having a baby. Over the last year, we have worked hard to address his allergies, put weight on him, and help his hair grow back. He's looking and feeling great! Unfortunately, there have been three separate instances of him getting aggressive with small children. It struck us incredibly odd, because he's such a sweet dog with us and our older children. We recently learned he's blind in his right eye, so we think what has happened is they've caught him off guard. Regardless, we can't risk it with our new baby. We have to find this sweet pup a new home.Byron is a lazy lay-arounder. He is home alone A LOT, and is never destructive or anxious.

Story
So sad to write this but we are looking for a new home for this sweet girl! We rescued her a couple months ago but we have 2 other dogs and I’m due in 2 weeks with my 5th baby and it’s just too much for us to keep her. About Gracie:- Vet thinks she’s between 1-2- She is very very sweet- Thrives off human connection- Very good with kids, she lets our 2 year old climb all over her no problem- Great with other dogs, it took her a good week or 2 to get used to my 2 dogs but now they’re best friends and play all day- House trained- Leash trainedShe will come with a pink harness, collar and leash. My biggest concern is making sure she goes to go to the right family! I will want to meet you ahead of time 🙂 Thank you!!
