Meet Jasper Oreo, a handsome five-year-old Australian Shepherd at 46 lbs., he responds to both verbal cues and basic ASL commands like 'sit' and 'stay' he as been raised with positive reinforcement training, he thrives on learning new things. He is house-trained and enjoys roaming freely in the house and consistently demonstrates his good manners. He does wonderfully at the vet and groomer as well as on car rides. Jasper can be a little reserved around unfamiliar people or dogs, though he has never shown any signs of aggression. Jasper has a playful spirit and loves activities such as balloon bop, solving puzzles, he enjoys walks, and splashing around at the lake. Monty is a great name for a great dog like me ;) I have the Monty Python kind of humor... goofy and sweet! But, don't mess with my crate! That really is my only "pet: peeve!! I was found on the streets 2 years ago and was adopted as a pup... however, I became the boss in the house and didn't like anyone entering the house that I didn't know :( SO..... Back to the rescue, because they won't give up on me!! So here I am and I have really adjusted to the environment and new people meeting me and treats and lots of love. AND the crew here basically has determined that I need a family/adopters that will be in charge of the house. Someone I can trust to protect me so I don't have to!! I am vocal in my crate, so my crate needs to be away from the common areas so I can relax and not meet everyone that stops by. Once I settle into my new home I will follow your lead! I am a gorgeous boy, with caramel and milk chocolate highlights in my soft fur. I want to please my family and go on all kinds of adventures! I am awesome out and about, meeting new people and new friends :D I hope you will look into my eyes, the windows to my soul, and see the HOPE I have to find my own home again! The rescue is great because I got a second chance, but I REALLY want a home!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Jax is hostile around strangers! He needs slow and proper introductions. He is good with dogs! He hasn’t been tested around cats. No children, because he needs an adult-only and calm home! Jax bit an irrigation salesman after he was in their backyard giving them a quote. The owner’s younger son let him out of the kennel without knowing the irrigation salesman was still in their backyard. The owner is surrendering him because he is protective of their family. They are unable to provide the training that he needs. He needs to go ASAP! If you think you can provide a great home for Jax, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Jax.
