Story
Buck Moon is very loving and loves to cuddle. He has a lot of energy and enjoys at least an hour of exercise every day. He loves exploring the outdoors and needs a family that enjoys taking him out to parks, on walks, hikes, runs and any other outdoor adventures. He loves being with his owner and family as much as possible. He wants to tag along on walks, car rides, and trips. He is definitely a pack animal and his pack is his human family. He is very protective and somewhat nervous around new dogs and people so he needs a patient and experienced owner that is willing to use positive reinforcement training methods. He is a purebred miniature Australian Shepard so knowledge of the breed or a willingness to learn is a must. If you are looking for a loyal and loving lifelong companion for your family, his love is unbounded and he asks for the same in return.

Story
Hi, my name is Nyla! I really love chasing balls and playing with toys. I am a little shy right now but I promise that will change. I am a little shy and would prefer a home without young children under the age of 12. I have a lot of training and would love to show off my tricks for you!I graduated from The SPCA's highly regarded Ruff Start Program which pairs shelter dogs in need of extra care or attention with inmates at Salinas Valley State Prison for training and love. Story
Introducing Phantom! This sweet pup came into our care with his two siblings as a result of an accidental breeding. Phantom was born completely blind, but this doesn't slow him down! He is quite the gentle pup and uses those little ears of his to lead the way and he's adapted great to this new style of life. His foster let us know that Phantom has a knack for finding his way into your heart, as he'll happily sit or lay by, or even on your feet, offering a sense of comfort and warmth. His funny and playful nature will keep you entertained, and he's always up for a game of follow-the-leader, either by lead or scent. This water-loving pup is a true "water puppy," loving the joy of swimming and playing in the river. Blindness doesn't slow Phantom down; in fact, it adds to his charm and resilience. He navigates the world with grace and enthusiasm, proving that love knows no boundaries. His playful demeanor extends to other dogs, and he's known to be good with cats but would prefer a home with an experienced adult owner or a family with older children who have previously worked with special needs dogs (preferably blind dogs). His future owner would be someone who is home throughout the day with him, able to continue positive training and socialization for his safety. Pre-registration for general obedience classes is a requirement for adoption. Phantom is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved. Story
Introducing Grace, AKA Amazing Grace! This sweet pup came into our care with her two siblings as a result of an accidental breeding. Grace was born completely deaf and blind, but this doesn't slow her down! Her amazing nose leads her on adventures out on the trail, in the mountains, and into any body of water, making her a true explorer at heart. Learning through scent and touch, Grace has adapted beautifully to her surroundings. Her ultra-sweet nature shines through, making her a joy to be around. Grace is not only super playful but also remarkably resilient, she can stand up to any dog while playing and absolutely loves a good game of tug of war. Grace's housebroken manners are impeccable, provided she knows the location of her designated potty spot and has access to the outdoors. Remarkably, she never loses her temper, showcasing her gentle and patient disposition. Grace does great with both dogs and cats, but any introductions would have to be done slowly and over time. Grace's future adopters would preferably be an experienced owner or family with older children that have previously owned a special needs animal (preferably blind or deaf). It is vital that her positive training is continued not only for her socialization but for her safety as well. There's more to Grace than just her resilience; she's a true kissy face lovebug. Her affectionate nature knows no bounds, and her presence is a heartwarming reminder that love and joy can thrive in any circumstance. Pre-registration for general obedience classes is a requirement for adoption. Grace is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved. Story
Meet Canela! This sweet herding breed mix is looking for a breed-savvy adopter to provide above average mental and physical stimulation to keep her a happy camer. Canela’s favorite things are going for walks and playing frisbee. Canela knows “sit”, “shake” and “lie down”. An adopter that will continue bonding with her and learning through positive reinforcement based training will be best to help Canela settle into her new home and continue learning life skills. Canela has met dogs and enjoys playing but can be a bit conflicted behind barriers or on leash. Reactivity is common in dogs and can be managed through environmental set ups as well working with a positive reinforcement behavior consultant. Canela may enjoy a home with a canine companion but any resident dogs should meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. Due to some observed prey drive towards cats and squirrels, a home free of small animals is recommended to set Canela up for success. Due to some breed specific behaviors, Canela is recommended to go to a home with teens or adults only.
