Story
WHERE ARE ALL MY AUSTRALIAN SHEPARD LOVERS??? Scout is a LOVER! He wants to keep his bonded person in sight at all times! He does not understand the concept of Personal Space! Definitely a Velcro dog AFTER you earn his trust. Scout needs someone who is breed specific experienced. He will require a few meet and greets before you take him home. He needs the best opportunity to succeed and that includes meeting him multiple times so he can get to know you and you can earn his trust. He is crate trained. He will go into the crate quickly at meal times now! In the mornings, he is very excited to see me and Jumps around in the crate and barks. He does settle down quickly He needs to be taught it ALL…manners, how to play with toys, which is obvious he never has.😢 The good news is he likes treats, so there is food motivation! He is stand offish to strangers in the house and growls. He is wonderful with my two dogs! He has shown no aggression to them. Loves them. Plays with them! My cat he is curious about, he sits next to her and watches her. When she jumps down, he follows her, no chasing. HE IS SMART. With patience, positive reinforcement and consistency Scout is going to be an AMAZING pet! I believe he would do great with someone who works from home or is home more often than not. Whoever is the lucky person to adopt him, will have a best friend! You will just need to be patient while he learns to trust you❤️ He is a digger…

Sweet boy, has separation anxiety. Does okay with kids but would be best if no kids he is extremely protective. If play fighting he tries to protect so usually puts outside when play fighting. Scared of loud noises, vacuum, blower, thunder. Extremely smart. Gets along with female dogs but not male dogs. Gets very jealous of other animals getting attention. Very dominate. Knows basic commands. Loves to run and play.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Stevie 2-year-old Australian Shepherd | Female   Stevie is a 48 lb sweet, sensitive Aussie looking for a calm, understanding home where she can truly settle in and shine.   Here’s what we know about this pretty girl:     •    Knows commands: off, sit, stay, down, and up (smart cookie )     •    Does great in multi-dog environments and enjoys canine companionship     •    Has separation anxiety, so she’ll do best with someone who is home most of the day     •    Timid with strangers and needs time to warm up     •    Looking for a home with no children under 12   Stevie would thrive in a patient, adult-focused home that understands her need for routine, reassurance, and gentle introductions. With the right person, she’s the kind of dog who will form a deep, loyal bond and be an incredible companion.   If you’re experienced with herding breeds or anxious pups and have the time to give her the stability she needs, Stevie might just be your girl ✨ Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2026, 8:39 am

Story
This handsome boy is 3-year-old Moby and he's waiting for you at Satchel's! Moby can be a little shy of strangers but warms up quickly. He enjoys his walks with volunteers, followed by a nice cool down in the kiddie pool while he waits at the gate for his turn to return to his kennel. Moby is full of energy and is currently working with a trainer to learn basic understanding of what is acceptable behavior. Note from a volunteer: "Moby is a darling and very smart. He’s a “back scratch” grass loving boy who prefers water over land any day. He should’ve been a fish 🐠." For an appointment to meet Moby, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found at satchelslastresort.org.
