I’m a big love bug who thinks humans were put on this earth for one reason… to give me snuggles! Now, I’m not gonna lie — I’m still a work in progress. The world can feel a little scary sometimes, and I’m learning to be brave! Things like strangers, bikes, and other dogs can make me nervous, so I need a patient, experienced human who will help me build confidence with positive reinforcement (no scary tools, please). I’m super smart and full of energy! I’d love a big fenced yard or property to zoom around on — apartment life just isn’t for me. I love playing fetch (still working on the “bring it back” part), tug-of-war, and sniffing out hidden toys. I’m also learning commands like “stay” and “leave it,” and I get better every day with yummy treats and praise. I’m crate trained, but I’d rather hang out with my people. Maverick was adopted with his brother in November. He is currently living in Jefferson, New York. He came to us as an owner surrender, and we were unfortunately terribly misled on their behaviors. Maverick is needing to find a new home where he is the only male dog. He was raised with children. He does currently live with cats and will not chase them if told to "leave it." He is a great dog with so much energy and a friendly demeanor, but living with his littermate is creating too much chaos as they resource guard and continually fight.
