Story
Our sweet Tucker is looking for his forever home. Tucker was surrendered after his family had a baby and no longer had proper time for his energy and activity level. He is 2 years and 3 months old. Tucker is an energetic and playful boy who will thrive with an active mom (or moms). Tucker does not like men and requires a female household. He also does not like boots. He is okay with some dogs, but is possessive over food and toys and will need patience when adapting to another dog in the household. He is non reactive on walks, it is only in the home where he is learning how to be with other pups.  He is a super smart boy who has been through training. He will thrive in the right environment and be your best bud forever!   ***Tucker has a bite history with men. He is okay with passing by them, but is still learning how to interact. Please do not apply for him if you are a single man or have multiple men in the household.   ##1671354##

Story
Zeus is a very friendly and energetic pal. He loves outdoor adventures and make new friends with other dogs. Zeus is very vocal when he plays and although may bark a lot, they're just invitations for dogs to come join him. Zeus might prefer people over dogs as he might say hi to the dog owners at the dog park first before playing with other dogs. Zeus needs patience as he might need some extended time to adjust to a new place. Zeus with do well with a house with a big yard as he needs to zoom around and release high puppy energy.

Story
Our good friend unexpectedly passed away in Tampa, FL and we are attempting to locate a new home for his 5yr old Australian Shepherd, Lucas. He is a beautiful dog with a ton of energy and requires an owner who can provide a stable and disciplined home. He is fixed and good with other dogs, but has food aggression issues when being around people who are eating their own food and has bitten at least twice that we know of, so his is a unique situation. However, he has no dog food aggressions and eats his own food around other dogs while they are eating their food, with no issues. We have reached out to all of the Australian Shepherd rescues we could find, but they are unable to take him in and we cannot take him to the Humane Society or other shelters as he would be euthanized due to his history. We are heartbroken over the loss of our friend and we are trying our best to honor him by securing a new home for Lucas.

Story
I will be rehoming my two Australian Shepherds, Bentley and Berkley. I am rehoming home them because I am expecting children and will not have enough room for everyone. They are not brothers by birth but grew up together, they can no longer be separated. They are very energetic and will require someone who can provide them with enough exercise and attention throughout the day. They are very loving dogs to someone who they are comfortable with and will always follow you around. Bentley is skiddish around dogs and with strangers, he is very protective of his owner and his brother. He was also attacked once at a dog park and is why is skiddish around other dogs. Ideally they would join a household where there is no other dogs. Bentley is Neutered but Berkley is not.

Story
Buble is a 2yr old aussie mix of some sort. He weighed in at 32lbs full grown with a lean stature at last vet appt. Great with other dogs and confident cats (he wants to play and bark at them if they run). Buble would do best in a home with a confident dog to play and snuggle with. Great with people but can be protective of his person and home so needs a family that can show him it's safe and he doesn't have to worry when someone new comes over. He's decent on a leash but does pull a little bit and knows some commands. Apply to adopt at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUVR/Dog All of our adoptable rescues have a clean bill of health (unless otherwise stated), are spayed/neutered, vaccinated (age-appropriately), tested (FeLV/FIV for cats, HW for dogs over 6 months of age), current on flea and heartworm prevention and microchipped. This is all included in their adoption fee that goes in as a donation to help us cover their medical costs and continue to help other animals in need. Any questions, concerns and suggestions, please feel free to contact us at ALDR@animalluvrs.org.

Story
Trinket is a 4 month old Australian Shepherd mix, (mom is a PB Aussie, dad is unknown) who will need to be spayed at the age appropriate time. She is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and has her Rabies and 6 month Bordetella shots, as well as all her puppy shots. Trinket is a fun, loving, friendly, and full of spunk. She LOVES people and will require plenty more training especially in the potty department. She is getting better with it, she just can't hold it as long as she'd like to. She is crate trained but does better with a chew in her cage. She can be a handful but is sweet and willing to learn, loves to use her nose to find things to eat. And enjoys using snuffle mats. She loves playing in water, with other puppies, and older dogs. She can be a digger but is easily redirected if you're watching her. She also has what her foster mom calls punchy paws, where she likes to greet you with her paws and do just about everything with them. She will also need a lot more work on the leash, she's good just needs training. She's also a lawn mower in the fact she loves to eat grass while outside. She is scared of cats, but still curious, typically won't chase them especially if they're used to dogs and don't run. She likes to watch horses but doesn't have a huge interest in following them along the fence line. Not sure how she would do with children but I imagine she may knock down little ones down and lick them. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She knows sit, lay down, paw, stay, and is learning leave it. She's quick to learn new commands, and very food motivated. She is still in the puppy play stage so she's still learning not to puppy play with humans in the same way as other puppies and still gives play nibbles here and there but she's a good girl. She's a good passenger in the car but loves to chew things so she'll need to be tethered and have some chew toys in the car until the chew faze is over. She tends to whine a little out of boredom but sops after a while. Requirements: * Fenced yard * Meet and greet * More training * A home that will fix her at the age appropriate time * dog or dogs who are great with puppies because she loves to give other dogs kisses and loves to play Available in New Port Richey, FL If Trinket sounds perfect for you, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to her new furever family and a $50 REFUNDABLE spay deposit which will be refunded upon proof of procedure. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Snickers is a purebred almost 2 year old (Dec 2024) Miniature Australian Shepherd. Beautiful coloring and a lovely soft coat. A little shy at first but gets more confident. Cautious with people but does prefer women to men, cats and other dogs. He can be protective of his home. An energetic, alpha/pack leader owner and breed experience is preferred as he can nip and be a biter. Training has improved this behavior tremendously. Australian Shepherds need a very dedicated owner as they get very attached and protective, also: 1. Owners must invest time in training. 2. Aussie's need to be mentally stimulated and kept occupied as they are very intelligent. 3. They need rigorous daily exercise such as hiking, running and games of fetch. If you can provide a home to Snickers with these criteria, please complete an adoption application.
