Story
I’m Lin, and I like dogs, but I LOVE people. Especially those little ones known as children. I would be soooo happy to have a child or two to call my own. I like to give hugs and be close enough to just barely touch and give the best cuddles. I’m quiet and curious, but not too pushy. I do little flips when I get excited. Have you heard about toys? I’m learning how to play with them. Fetch is really fun when the right toy is thrown. I’m obedient and respond to corrections, but have been known to pout. I’m learning my name, how to sit and, of course, how to fetch. I’m crate-trained, but prefer to sleep with my people. I also attend dog daycare a few days a week and play with a lot of dogs of every size and gender on my playdates. If I’ve just described the doggie of your dreams, please fill out that adoption application and fill in my name. That’s LIN with one N.

Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Belleville, IL Meet Allen! He is an 1 year old Aussie/Cattle Dog/Lab/Pyrenees/Pitbull/Treeing Walker Coonhound mix in Belleville, IL and weighs 45-50 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and on heartworm prevention. He is good with kids and cats but nervous around strangers. He needs to be the only dog in the home. He was boarded at her board and train facility, but the owners surrendered him to her. She is surrendering him because she has dogs come and go all the time to her facility and he doesn’t do well with other dogs. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Allen, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Allen. Owner’s Contact Information: Katie Mayou at (618) 979-8521 or katie.mayou@gmail.com.

Story
Hi, I'm Abby and they say I am very smart. I really want to find my forever home.I have been here awhile and I have an old injury and I would love to be in a comfortable environment away from these hard floors. Here are my thoughts. Please, no other pets or children, I want to be your one and only, so we can have lots of fun together.I prefer a fenced yard to play in. I love to learn, so you will need to continue my training and I promise to make you proud. I am a bit of a mix of cattle dog and Aussie, so breed experience would be a benefit to understanding me. Please come meet me soon!DOB 8/8/20 44 poundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
Root Beer is no stranger to ALIVE Rescue. She was rescued by us back in August of 2017. Root Beer came from a hoarding situation in Chicago where over 40 dogs and puppies were living. Many of the dogs had parvo and Root Beer broke with parvo on the day we were saving her. Luckily, after staying in the ER for several days, she survived. Root Beer has been adopted twice into two loving families since her rescue and we have learned a lot about what makes her happy in a forever home. She bonds quickly to one person in a home and that person becomes HER person. She feels a sense of responsibility to protect that person from everyone else living and visiting the home. At this time, we will only be adopting Root Beer into a home with ONE adult and no children. She also has to be the only animal in the home, so no other dogs or cats. Whoever adopts this girl is going to be really lucky. She will keep you laughing all day long with her happy-go-lucky personality. She's a total goof ball. She likes to feel the wind in her fur. If you are active and like the outdoors, she's your girl. She loves to be outside just sitting and smelling Mother Nature. If she's not resting outside, she is exploring and roaming around. She flourishes at the beach and will walk right in and swim. When she's not busy exploring and being adventurous, you'll find this girl snoozing. She's an expert napper and has never met a blanket or pillow she doesn't love. Falling asleep to tummy rubs is kind of the best. When she's feeling affectionate she'll let you scratch her head and she'll burrow her head into your hand. Let's talk toys....this girl LOVES tennis balls and her favorite is to sprint after the ball & catch it mid-air. Squeaker toy stuffies are the name of the game. And she's really great with puzzle toys. She's a smartie. Speaking of smart, Root Beer also knows basic commands including Shake, Toy, Ball. She will even make her way to the door when you say "inside and knows her bed to be "Place. Training her is easy because she is VERY treat motivated. Not sold on her yet? Root Beer is completely housebroken and is not destructive. Double bonus! Interested in learning more about this girl? Visit aliverescue.org and complete the adoption application. Note: Root Beer is currently residing in Stuart, Florida so we are accepting applications from Illinois (and surrounding states) and Florida as well.
