Meet Layla! She is a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd mix we have available for adoption. Layla has lived outside most of her life and is unfortunately Heartworm & Lyme-positive. She has completed her treatment and now is just waiting for her six month retest to see if she is negative! Her future home should have a large yard for her to run in or an active owner that is willing to give her lots of exercise! Layla is a gentle girl who is very easy to walk on a leash, so going for long walks will be enjoyable! If you are looking for a loyal girl who wants to spend all day with you, Layla is the dog for you! She loves everyone she meets and is quite the social butterfly. She does have some separation anxiety, so she will need an owner who is home most of the time, or someone who is willing to help build her confidence when she is left alone. Layla is so affectionate and will gladly plop right next to you for some belly rubs. She is so sweet. We have tested her with other dogs, and she does very good with them as long as they are respectful players. She could potentially go home with another dog as long as it's a good match! Layla is excited to meet you!

Both are fostering together in a foster home in Memphis, TN. Once adopted they will travel via Rescue Vet Transport to their new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. He is good with older children and cats! No younger children or dogs, due to his reactivity! The owner is surrendering him because he recently gave a warning snap at their 1 year old son. Story

Penny is a sweet, good-natured, and loyal dog. She is very loving towards humans. However, she simply does not get along with other dogs and needs more exercise than we can give her. We adopted Penny from a shelter in 2018. She is about 8 years old. The ideal home for Penny is one without another dog; she also would ideally be with a family with a yard or with the time to take her on frequent walks. She loves running and would make a great running companion. We have recently learned that Penny has an anxiety disorder. We are working with a behavior specialist to see if we can find the right combination of medication and training to address her issues. Penny likes to nibble at hanging blankets and towels. We are trying to get to the bottom of whether that is a stomach issue or a psychological issue (or a combo!) Penny is truly an AMAZING dog. We are devastated that we can no longer provide the best home for her. We love her so much and want to be sure she goes to a loving home.
