Story

Juniper truly is a remarkable dog. It is estimated that she is about four years old. Found on the streets of Houston, she has over come so much. Juniper is deaf and mostly blind but that doesn't stop her. She loves playing with her bouncy ball. She seems to be solar charged. She is most goofy and playful in the morning then chills out almost immediately (to begin one of her many naps of the day). But she will get very excited if she smells her leash coming out. She LOVES meeting new people, and will greet them with a down dog bow and lots of full body wiggles and helicopter tail wags. With other dogs in the home, she either plays with them or ignores them. Her only hurdle is that she is resource aggressive towards food (so feeding her alone is ideal) and sadly, me. She has decided one of her owner is a resource and one is a threat. She would be amazing with a single adult parent or a couple who are patient and ready to learn her touch cues as well as let her feel safe over time.

Story

Cecil is a 6 year old blue Merle Aussie. My parents got him as a puppy in 2020 but due to major medical setbacks in the last year, they can no longer keep him. He loves his humans and wants to follow or stay beside them all day. He is house trained and knows basic commands. He currently lives with another much older dog, and they are very close. He would rather go for a walk than play with a toy.Cecil is a very special dog with a quirky personality and is incredibly loyal and devoted to those he loves. He is also anxious in new circumstances, and we recommend experienced, patient dog owners with a home and yard. He is very cuddly and playful but takes time to open up to others. When anxious, he can whine, bark (loudly) and has occasionally nipped strangers that approach him too fast. He is also very trainable and does fine with other dogs and humans at doggy daycare. We got Layla down in Nashville as a puppy. She's 8 years old (turning 9 this spring). Looking for someone who can actually give her a happy back nine of her life. I have no idea how long she'll live, but we have 3 kids under 5 and zero time to give her the attention she deserves. It's honestly a bit heartbreaking. Thinking of her sitting in the house and not doing fun activities for the next 5 or so years is already sad enough. To be clear, I don't actually want to get rid of her. She's brought us so much joy over the years. We're just not in the season of life to give her what she deserves. She's super great with people, loves attention (a lot), and still has puppy energy. She'll climb up on your lap if you let her, and somehow she never smells bad. If you can take her on walks, give her love, and don't mind a dog that lets you know when someone pulls into the driveway, you'll adore her.

Beckett is a very handsome mini Australian Shepherd mix. He weighs about 35 lbs. This distinguished boy is a young 10-year-old. Beckett was saved from the streets of Nashville. He was abandoned and alone. Thanks to a caring lady who could not bear the thought of him spending any more time outside, Beckett is now in a loving foster home. He is under the care of Critter Cavalry. It did not take long for this awesome gentleman to make himself at home. After meeting the resident dogs, he explored outside. He came in and found a spot to relax. He is getting along great with his new foster sisters. He is also good with cats. This super smart boy quickly learned to use the doggie door. He can now come and go as he pleases. He does prefer to be inside and likes to know where his foster mom is. Beckett is enjoying all the love and attention he is getting. It takes him a few minutes, but he quickly warms up to new people. He just has to make sure that you are nice. Beckett is housebroken. He walks well on a leash. He also does not mind the crate and will go right in for a treat. He currently sleeps in his crate, but we think he would love to cuddle up right next to you. This Aussie/Cattle Mix girl is 2.5 years and weighs 30-35 pounds and she is the definition of a Velcro dog—she loves cuddling, being held, getting pets, and following her favorite humans from room to room. If you’re looking for a dog who truly wants to be your best friend, Ghost is your girl! She has the cutest goofy side, too. Ghost loves running around the yard, playing chase, getting the zoomies, and doing her little spins when she gets excited. She’s also VERY treat motivated and will happily work for snacks! Ghost is house trained and crate trained and would absolutely love a home with a secure fenced yard. She’s much more of a backyard-zoomies girl than a long-walk girl—the busy outside world can sometimes be a little overwhelming for her, and she’s happiest running and playing somewhere familiar and secure. Ghost would love to be your one-and-only pet and soak up all the attention for herself. Other dogs can make her uncomfortable, so a home where she doesn’t have to share her space with other animals will allow her to relax and be her happiest self. She has lived with a toddler and newborn and absolutely adores her little humans. She has been incredibly loving and gentle with them. When meeting children she doesn’t know, she appreciates a calmer introduction rather than lots of excitement all at once, so a quieter home or one with older children would be a great fit. She also would do best as the only dog in the family and not sharing any spotlight with others. More than anything, Ghost wants her person. Meet Bailey Girl— All She Needs Is a Chance â¤ï¸ Bailey Girl is a beautiful 27-pound female 18 month old Mini Aussie mix with a story that will break your heart—but the little dog she is becoming will put it right back together. Bailey Girl was abandoned during extremely hot weather when someone placed her inside a school playground with no way to get out. Tragically, she wasn’t discovered until the following Monday when the school reopened. Someone had reportedly witnessed her being left there but did not notify anyone. We may never understand why she was abandoned that way, but we do know one thing: her story does not have to end where it began. Today, Bailey Girl is safe in a loving foster home, and she is doing beautifully. â¤ï¸ It took her only a couple of days to begin trusting her foster, and now she has become her little shadow. She does well with other dogs and cats, walks on a leash, and can even be left loose in the home with the other dogs while her foster is at work. Bailey Girl is still working on becoming completely house trained, but she is extremely intelligent and continues to learn. She enjoys having a yard where she can run and as her confidence and trust have grown, she happily comes back to her foster when called. Because Bailey Girl can be somewhat fearful of children, we believe she would be happiest in a home without children, where she can feel secure and develop a strong bond with her person or family. Bailey may need a little more patience in the beginning than some dogs. You have to earn her trust—but once you do, something very special happens. She begins to understand that she is safe. She follows you. She looks to you for reassurance. And before long, you realize you haven’t just gained a dog—you’ve gained a devoted little sidekick. A word of advice please. Bailey Girl needs someone who won’t expect everything from her on the first day. She needs love, patience, kindness, and time. Give her the opportunity to understand that you aren’t going anywhere, and she will give that love and devotion right back to you. â¤ï¸ Bailey may very well become the dog you talk about for the rest of your life.
