Story
Sailor is an incredibly sweet, gentle Australian Shepherd mix. She is about 1.5 years old and weighs 43 lbs. Sailor is very playful with other dogs and LOVES to run. She is very fast and is typically the one being chased! Sailor was very skittish when she first arrived, but has made huge strides. She is still shy with people, but is learning to accept affection if given slowly and gently. Although still uncomfortable with being approached quickly, she is learning to trust that she is not in danger when people come towards her. She is now coming to her fosters for treats which she takes very gently. She loves food and will often rest her chin on her foster parents to see what they are eating and more importantly, if they plan to share! Sailor is generally quiet except at mealtime when she barks with joy from the time she realizes her meal is being prepared to when she actually receives it. It is actually quite endearing. She is house trained and crate trained. This super sweet girl will be a great family dog once she gets comfortable in her new home. Sailor needs a fenced-in yard, another playful dog and a home with children 10 and older. Sailor is being fostered south of Boston and is available for visits. View her video at https://www.facebook.com/reel/890620475833826 Sailor is one of the nearly 100 dogs and puppies seized in an alleged cruelty case at a high-volume breeder in Hertford County, North Carolina back in May. Although the dogs being bred were mostly Aussies, this girl was also found on the property. Clearly different than the other dogs, she was identified as a beagle mix. Frankly, we’re not sure how much beagle is in there, if any, but when the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) reached out to ask if we could help Sailor leave their busy care center and get into a foster home, we were happy to help. We are honored to be part of her journey to living a Happy Life! Sailor was likely born on the property. While with HSUS she gained some much-needed weight and has gotten healthy. If you are interested in the cruelty case she was a part of, see the Humane Society’s Press Release from May at https://www.humanesociety.org/news/nearly-100-dogs-and-puppies-rescued-alleged-cruelty-high-volume-breeder-no-place-puppy-north

Story
Jiggy is a sweet boy, but has much much energy. We are rehoming due to bringing home a baby and Jiggy is not happy with our new lifestyle. He is very anxious around new people and other animals. Requires an dog owners to be able to train him and work on his behaviors of social anxiety. He is a fast learner we just have not had the time to train him. Requires a lot of training and socialization.
