She is also fully potty trained and crate trained. Freckles is a retired breeding dog and is getting spayed and having a dental on Wednesday Dec. 3 and can potentially go home Saturday Dec. 6 if healing goes well. If you’re looking for some sunshine to help you through this winter, come meet Freckles! You won’t regret it! Adoption fee: $350 + tax Apply to adopt: www.campcompanion.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Argo arrived in November 2022 from our friends at the Rescue Network after he was rescued from a Reservation in South Dakota. He is about 3 to 4 years old and does have a lot of the trademark features of mixed breed dogs from Reservations - "Rezzies", as they are affectionately known in rescue. Like many Rezzies, he could be a mix of cattle dog and German and/or Australian shepherd, just to name a few possible options. He's a handsome and very active dog. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $125. Argo has had some basic training and will require a lot of consistent exercise. This is of the utmost importance in order to keep him well balanced and happy. He is ready for action all the time but gets serious when leashed. He does pretty well on leash walks and loves car rides. He's an affectionate guy, too, who thinks nothing of climbing into a person's lap if he gets the chance. Argo would do best in a home with a large fenced yard. He's NOT a dog for apartment living. He's looking for an ADULT only, single person home as he tends to bond very closely to his person and becomes quite protective. No cats for him. He's incredibly smart and would be a lot of fun to train! Watch a short TikTok video featuring Argo below! https://www.tiktok.com/@happy.critter.ranch/video/7199457883958955310 NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 30, 2025, 6:43 pm

Story
Cotton’s time has been beautifully spent. He’s learned to safely navigate a world that he can’t fully see or hear. He’s earned the nickname ‘Fake blind dog’ for his incredible ability to overcome the challenges and obstacles that he was born with, lived through and now has conquered. He moves with the absolute swiftness of a skilled herding dog. He is every bit as confident and agile as his canine counterparts.Beyond his improved physical abilities, Cotton has continued to make strides in his dog to dog relationships. It’s difficult in the canine world for Aussies that can see and hear. Their intense nature, quick movements, desire to herd, and demand for order can often be misunderstood by other dogs. When the ability to quickly read another dog is diminished by lack of vision or hearing or both- it can easily result in reactivity. Cotton has used his time here to learn to read cues his way. He’s learned to trust and play. He’s mastered fun and that should always be a priority. He’s also learning who to avoid, how to exit gracefully and that the humans do have his back. Cotton has embraced the life he’s living. He has worked so hard to be good and do good. He has more than earned his place in this pack, this home, this organization, this community and this world. He still needs a home of his own. This place he lives is wonderful but it’s not his wonderful. It’s a resting spot. A wayside stop. A layover. Cotton needs people that wake up every day happy and excited that he is there. A home that grabs him an extra treat when they are out. A grandma that extra spoils him. A kid that cannot wait to get off that bus to play with him. A bed that is just his. A family.Cotton has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on his vaccinations. He has tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $350.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application if you would like to meet this beautiful boy.

Story
Edward is a mini Aussie breeder release born July 2019. Edward is a bit shy and would like another dog to help him with the transition into life in the real world. He is a sweet happy boy, but has never walked on a leash - although he is trying to learn. He would like a home with a fenced yard so he doesn't need to work on leash training at the same time as potty training in a new home. Edward should go to a home that has experience with Aussies so his needs for order and organization will be appreciated. He hopes he can find someone patient and kind to help him learn how to be a happy dog living the good life. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Barbie is a 1.5-year-old mini-Aussie mix with a big personality wrapped in a medium-sized body. Her absolute favorite thing in the world is you—your love, your attention, your lap, and of course your belly rubs. She’s known for her “barrel rolls,” flopping over for scritches any chance she gets. Barbie may start out a little timid when meeting new people, but give her a few minutes and you’ll have a new best friend by your side. She’s a spunky, active girl who loves fetch, tug, zooming around the yard with furry friends, and exploring on walks. She’s fast and has a tall vertical jump so she may be a good fit for agility or other activities that challenge her mind and body.  She would be a good fit for a fenced-in backyard, a lead line, or with someone committed to helping her play out all her Aussie energy. Barbie is also a smart cookie. She’s potty trained, sleeps through the night in her kennel, and already knows sit and shake/paw. She comes when called and is working on new tricks.  She would love a person or family to help her keep using her mind to learn new things (and she thinks the treats are fun too). Barbie would thrive with a person or family who enjoys time outdoors, playtime, and of course, couch time cuddle breaks. She even likes the snow! She would do well with a tolerant or playful dog friend, though her energy may be a bit much for more mellow pups. She's still learning boundaries when other dogs are done playing but she wants to play more. She has lived with young children but may do best with kids who can respect her need for slow introductions, play safely, and understand her Aussie smarts.  Speaking of smarts, her nose knows where the treats are - both dog and human - so she's still learning not to be a food thief.  She hasn't gotten into anything but we’ve caught her curiously jumping up on her hind legs to see what’s on the counter/table.  As you can see from her pictures, she’s got longer, super soft hair (you’ll have to trust us on the softness for now) but keep in mind if you adopt her, she'll need someone to maintain her hair with regular brushing and grooming.  Good news is, she loves getting brushed - its relaxing like the spa!  If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with puppy-dog eyes and a heart full of love, Barbie is ready to be your girl. She can’t wait to find her forever home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Story
Meet Hansel! 💙 If looking this good were illegal, Hansel would be serving a life sentence. Those icy blue eyes? Dangerous. That face? Weaponized cuteness. That personality? A perfect blend of “love me now” and “I will absolutely steal your spot on the couch.” Hansel is deaf, but honestly? He couldn’t care less. While you’re over there worrying about volume, he’s living his best silent-movie lifestyle—dramatic stares, big emotions, zero noise complaints. He’s smart, playful, and honestly a little full of himself… and he should be. He gets along beautifully with people, dogs, and even cats. In his mind, every creature he meets is just another member of his fan club. Crate trained? ✔️ House trained? ✔️ Absurdly handsome? ✔️✔️✔️ Hansel is affectionate, loyal, and absolutely ready to sweep his forever family off their feet—probably by accident during a zoomie episode. Think you can handle this level of charm? He doubts it… but he’s willing to let you try. 😉 📩 Apply to adopt: tailsofhopewi.org
