Story
Meet the lovely lady Aunna! Aunna has been fearful and timid during her shelter stay; she will likely take a little time to adjust to new people and environments. In a home setting, she has been described as a very friendly goofball with lots of energy and lots of love. Aunna has been around dogs of all sizes and did well with them. She has been around cats and other small animals and does well but tends to bark at them and can be selective, so slow introductions are always recommended when bringing new animals home. Aunna is house-trained and will whine near the door when she has to go out. Aunna is also used to crate-trained and used to being left in her kennel when home alone. She is good on leash and is not a puller. She loves going on long walks!  Aunna is used to a big yard and having lots of space to run and burn off her young energy. Aunna is very food-motivated and loves treats of any kind. She would love puzzle toys that involve food or treats as enrichment! *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling 320-252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Story
**Colt is available through TCHS' Adoption Ambassador Program and is not at the shelter! Call 320-252-0896 to arrange a meet-and-greet** Meet Colt! Colt is a high-energy dog who would love a very active home - a job would be even better! We think he would make a perfect addition to some farms because he likes to stay busy. He is a little bit of a puller when he walks, so an appropriate harness or Weiss Walkie (sold in our Re-Tail Shoppe) would be a good idea. Colt loves fetch and tug-of-war, but he's equally happy to snuggle in someone's lap. He is a super sweet dog, with two catches - he does not like being around small children OR cats. Ask to see Colt outside of his kennel to get to know the real him - he never stops smiling! *Adoption Ambassador (AA) animals are available for adoption but reside in a TCHS foster home instead of in the shelter. Meet-and-greets are scheduled in a first-come, first-served manner. Adoption holds are NOT accepted on AA animals unless the potential adopter has already met the animal. If you are interested in meeting this AA pet, meet-and-greets may be scheduled by calling 320-252-0896. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. Story
Loyal and affectionate with his family. Very intelligent and knows many commands. He enjoys having a job to do and learns quickly. Protective of his home and people, and can be wary of strangers. He does best with slow introductions and visitors who ignore him initially. Once he gets to know someone, he is much more comfortable. He would thrive with an experienced dog owner who understands herding breeds and reactive behavior. He has a bite history involving an unfamiliar person who approached and reached toward him, so careful management around new people is important.

Story
Location: Waverly, MN Hi, my name is Leola. I'm a very friendly girl who loves people, affection, and giving kisses! Being on your lap is my favorite place to be and when you get up, I'll follow you wherever you go. I'm kinda like velco or a shadow! I'm getting along great with my foster brothers and sisters, sharing toys and bones, playing outside and running around playing chase and keep away! I have many great qualities: I'm potty trained, kennel trained, walk on a leash, sleep through the night in my kennel and ride well in the car (in or out of my kennel)! I love to chew on bones but I'm not to sure about squeaky toys yet. Rope toys are fun for playing tug of war! I would do best in a home where my human isn’t gone for long hours as I am a Velcro pup. 🩷 If you're looking for a loveable, loyal companion that will be by your side wherever you go, I'd love to be your new best friend! --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

Story
Meet Lazy Skittles 🐾 At 5 years old, Lazy Skittles is officially retiring from motherhood after lovingly raising her final litter. Now that her puppies have all found their forever homes, it’s her turn to be the one spoiled and cherished. Skittles is searching for a calm, adult-only home—she’s decided she’s all set with the hustle and bustle of kids and is ready to enjoy a more peaceful lifestyle. She has a friendly, happy personality that shines once she feels safe, though she can be a bit shy and submissive at first. Because of her sensitive nature, Skittles will need a securely fenced yard where she can feel safe and explore at her own pace. She would also thrive in a home with other confident, friendly dogs who can help show her the ropes and teach her how wonderful “the good life” can be. With a little patience and a lot of love, Lazy Skittles will blossom into a loyal, gentle companion who’s ready to spend her days relaxing by your side. Ready to give this sweet girl her happily-ever-after? 💕 ********************************************* Fine Print: All dogs of NWMNAR are screened at the headquarters in Ada, Mn until they are vetted. They are then transferred to foster homes throughout MN and some into ND so they can get used to lifestyles with a family in a home. Adoption fee for an adult dog is $300 + Mn tax. Adoption fee for a dog over 3 years of age is $300 + Mn tax., pup/dog1 year to 3 years is $400 + Mn tax. Under 1 year of age $500 + Mn tax. Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Meet and greets will take place in a public setting along with the adoption if compatible. Dogs can be met in Ada, MN weekday and weekends, or in our alternate office location in Maple Grove, MN on weekends only. Once we receive your submission, our application review team will be in touch with you. Please have patience while they look over your application.
