Location: Anoka, MN Hi I am Evie! I am a very sweet girl who loves belly scratches. It takes me a little while to warm up in new environments, but once I do I am a very loving puppy. I am currently potty trained, but may need a little refresher in a new environment. I would do best with a fenced in backyard since I am a very good jumper and climber. I would do best in an active household where I can have daily time outside to run and/or daily walks. I like chasing squirrels and bunny rabbits, so I will need to be on a leash when I am outside. My foster parents are working with me on crate training and I am really starting to enjoy my wire crate and I take many naps in there! I know how to sit, especially if you have a treat for me! I enjoy the company of other dogs and love running and playing with them! Scooter is kennel trained to sleep through the night. Scooter is quiet. He is doing well with potty training and walking on a leash during the day. Meet Allie, a 2019 edition of a party colored Australian Shepherd x Border Collie weighing in at 42 lbs. This beautiful gal came to NWMNAR because her previous owner had to leave abroad to help take care of in-laws and could not take Allie with. Allie loves going to obedience class and showing how smart she is. Allie needs an Aussie savy owner her can outsmart her. She is best with dogs the same size, she has prey drive towards rabbits and may not do well with cats or other smaller animals possibly including smaller tiny dogs. Allie takes time with strangers and will often back away barking. Allie has been scared of men with hats in the past. She can be a bit barky towards other dogs on walks, but has been learning to play nice. She can be dominant towards other dogs. Allie doesn't like plastic crates, but does just fine in wire crate. Allie must be crated in a vehicle otherwise she will run around in a vehicle pushing window switches until she gets out. Allie is best to go for a walk before a car ride to ensure she doesn't nervous defecate in the vehicle. Allie hies and sleeps under the bed to keep the monsters away. Allie does like to vocalize herself if she sees other dogs outside when she is peering out the windows. She has just started to play with toys and gets groomed twice a week with a brush. Her life has been primarily living in a crate or kennel and used solely for breeding. She is now looking for a furever home where she will never have to worry about breeding again. She is learning to live the good life, plays with other dogs, keeps her kennel run clean, is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. She is learning to trust and is a little shy but coming out of her shell and wants to be loved. She is learning how to walk on a leash and learn her basic skills. Meet Red Raven! Red Raven is a 2022 edition of a standard Australian Shepherd. She came into NWMNAR as an owner surrender as they had to move and where they were moving did not allow pets. Red Raven is a very intelligent dog, and will need a privacy fenced yard as she can clear a six foot chain link fence. This girl would probably excel in agility or be a great jogging partner. She does best with women, has been around children, but better suited for adults. Red Raven is very responsive, wicked smart, house and crate trained, spayed, up to date on vaccinations and ready to find her new home. Red Raven is available for adoption. Meet Freckles - This young 3 yr old boy with half tail came into rescue to no fault of his own, His human went into a nursing home and he was placed in a boarding facility where he became malnourished and was not fed enough. Luckily he was surrendered over to Northwest Minnesota Aussie Rescue and has been gaining back the weight. He is best with the lady dogs, as he was recently neutered and all hormones are starting to wear out of his body. He is getting better playing with other dogs. He is food driven - most likely from not getting enough food while in a boarding facility. He has a shiny black coat now that is easy maintenance. He we need some work on his basics, and house training. He has primarily kept his kennel run clean. He is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and looking for his new home!! He gained his freedom ride on 11/20/2023 from a commercial breeding facility and landed here at NWMNAR with his 3 brothers and 1 sister, also on Petfinder (Stetson, Sebastian, Sam, and Steph). He is a typical puppy like his brothers and sister and is playful and full of energy. He is neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipped all prior to adoption.
