Story
Meet Jack, our affectionate and lively 2-year-old miniature Australian Shepherd! Jack is a vibrant companion looking for his forever home through no fault of his own. He was adopted through the Humane Society and has been a cherished member of our family, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to provide him with the care and attention he deserves. Jack is incredibly loving, friendly, playful, and intelligent. He loves to explore the outdoors, go for walks, and engage in interactive playtime. Jack would thrive in a home with an active lifestyle, where he can receive plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A fenced yard would be ideal for him to safely explore and play. He would do well with an adopter who can dedicate time to training and socialization to help her reach his full potential. Help Jack find his happily ever after! 🐾

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Our nearly perfect little Penny is ready for her home. Penny is a 5 year old mini Aussie that came to us from a local family. Sadly they were moving and were unable to take her with them. That’s when we stepped in. Penny has so much love to give her people. She is never far behind her foster mama and seems to always have a smile on her face. She loves life, an anything she can do with her family.    Penny is crate trained, housebroken, and good with cats, dogs, and kids! She can be a little shy and reserved at first. It takes her a couple of days to warm up and trust her new family, but once she does, you can’t escape her. And really why would you?! Just look at that face! Those little spots on her nose are just the cutest. Penny has no idea about boundaries or personal space; she’s always glued to your side when you are home. Penny is the type of dog that will do whatever you do. If you want to take a hike, she will go. If you want to go for a drive, sure, she’s up for it! Want to sit and watch TV, no problem. Penny will do that too! If you are sick and need to lay in bed all day, don’t worry, Penny is all for that too. Her goal in life is to make sure you never feel alone. She’s good at it too!    Penny knows some basic commands such as sit and come. She does pull when on a leash at first but then she settles down. Sometimes it’s hard for Penny to hide her excitement. When you come home from work, she cannot contain herself. Penny will jump and leap and cry and bark. She spins in circles and dances on her back legs with her front paws waving in the air. Penny will cry when you first leave but will settle down. Once she knows your routine, and knows you will be coming back to her, Penny is perfectly fine when you leave her.     Penny can be a bit of a barker. Not a nuisance barker, but she will let you know when people are at the door, and when people come in. Her bark is very high pitched and loud. For this reason she would not do well in a typical apartment setting. When Penny first arrived, she did have fleas. Our vet seems to think that the patches of hair loss on her back was a reaction to the fleas. It is growing in nicely. That being said it will be important to keep her up to date on flea prevention during the warmer months. She also recently has surgery to repair a cherry eye. That is why her one eye appears pinkish on the bottom. It is in the process of healing. No additional care will be needed for her though at this time.    If you think Penny is the right fit for your home, make sure you apply today. This sweet little girl won’t be around too long.  Penny is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm,  She has also had a cherry eye repair surgery since coming to rescue.  Her adoption fee is $450Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 2:27 pm

Story
Did my beautiful coat and striking eyes catch your attention? I'm Fern, a sweet yet reserved gal looking for a place to call my own. While it may take some time for us to get to know each other, I promise it will be worth it! I'm a bouncy and fun-loving girl at heart that's just as happy to play fetch in the yard as I am to climb in your lap. I'll need to find an experienced home with someone that understands my activity needs and is able to provide all kinds of physical and mental exercise. Stop by the SPCA if I sound like the one for you!

Story
Bucky is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd mix. He is a little joyous ball of energy weighing around 30lbs. He goes very few places without a ball in his mouth, is incredibly athletic, and loves attention from everyone he meets. He is cat neutral, gets along great with all dogs (though dogs that want to reciprocate play will be necessary), crates wonderfully, and is potty trained with a consistent routine! Bucky came from a hoarding case in KY where someone passing themselves off as a rescue had dogs chained outside in deplorable conditions with no shelter, and eventually started dumping dogs to cover their tracks. A long time rescuer saved 60 dogs from the situation, and 2 of them made their way to us up north to search for their forever families with us! Bucky is searching for a home with children over the age of 10 and a fully fenced yard due to his energy level. He does well with dogs of all sizes, but does want to play with them all, so dogs under 20lbs and of toy stature, older dogs, or very dog-shy dogs would not be a good fit. Bucky is accepting applications and is currently available for meet and greets with approved adopters! If you’re interested in adopting him or getting pre-approved for our other dogs, please fill out the adoption application at www.RosebudRescue.com/adopt

Story
Reason is an approx. 9 month old female Australian Shepherd weighing 35lbs. She spent the start of her life living in deplorable conditions at a puppy mill before recently coming into rescue. She is so sweet, very interested in making new friends (dog and people!) and is incredibly treat and praise motivated which should make training a breeze! She LOVES toys and almost always has one with her. She has the typical high energy of an Aussie but also loves a good cuddle session! She understands the concept of going potty outside with a consistent schedule and crates well in a quiet area. Reason’s leash training is a work in progress as she is fearful of pressure from the leash, but has already improved immensely. We will send her off with some tips and tricks to work through this and as with all of our dogs, will be here for training advice throughout and after her adoption. NO cats or small dogs due to her herding instincts, however Reason’s ideal adopter would have another playful dog in the house over 20lbs to keep her company. A fully fenced yard is required at this time due to her energy level and leash training. Reason is accepting applications and is currently available for meet and greets with approved adopters! If you’re interested in adopting her or getting pre-approved for our other dogs, please fill out the adoption application at www.RosebudRescue.com/adopt Please note, Reason is only available on a foster-to-adopt basis until spayed.
