## Meet Indie **Indie is someone’s next heart dog.** She’s the total package—smart, silly, adventurous, and deeply affectionate. One minute she’s stretching her legs in zoomie mode, the next she’s curled up beside you, gazing lovingly into your eyes like you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to her (because, in her mind, you are). --- ### Indie’s Dream Home Indie is looking for a home that matches her big, joyful spirit: * A playful, happy-go-lucky dog companion who enjoys her energetic, social play style OR as an only dog with routine access to playing with other dogs. * Ideally a home with a doggie door and easy access to a yard * Bonus points for water on the property—this girl *loves* water * A family of any size, though she may thrive most with older elementary-aged kids (or older) who want a buddy to include in their adventures * Some property or open space where she can run, explore, and chase squirrels without constant leash frustration As an Aussie, Indie is intelligent and independent. She’s less of a “Velcro dog” and more of an explorer—checking in, but confidently using her clever brain to investigate the world around her. --- ### Her Personality & Play Style Indie loves all dogs who love her—especially puppies! She isn’t every dog’s perfect companion as she can come on sort of strong a be a little bossy. She attends doggie daycare and is reportedly a **10/10 superstar**. She’s social, confident, and ready to have a good time. On leash, she can show some reactivity toward other dogs—not out of aggression, but frustration. She *really* wants to play and gets excited when the leash says “no.” She’s receptive to training and shows promise, but would benefit from a home that can consistently work with her in calmer environments …or one that can just avoid the leash on a small neighborhood block with a dog at each fence all together! She: * Enjoys daily walks - she’s a BIG sniffer. *Has run up to 5 miles at a time on leash, but seems to prefer open field running * Mostly walks nicely—until a squirrel or exciting scent appears * Has great recall in open fields but is kept on a long line just in case wildlife proves too tempting * Loves enrichment toys, lick mats, chews, and interactive fun --- ### Home Life Indie currently lives in a quieter home with a sweet 4-year-old and another dog. She loves the little girl, but Indie is more interested in what the adults are doing. Her dog sister relationship is cordial but not especially playful. She would likely flourish in a more active environment where her “bombastic” and joyful nature can shine daily. She has experience with: * Chickens (she finds them thrilling and would chase if given the chance) * Car rides (she loves them!) * Woods and outdoor adventures * Nail trims and handling—she’s wonderfully tolerant * we are unsure of how she would be with cats at this time, though we expect she might chase them (at the very least) She was previously kennel trained and can sleep in a crate, though she currently enjoys bed privileges. Be warned: she’s a champion cuddler, a bit of a bed hog, and may greet you in the morning with enthusiastic Aussie affection. --- ### Why She’s Looking for a New Home Indie is deeply loved. Due to significant chronic health challenges in her current home, her family is navigating a season that makes it hard to give Indie the full, vibrant life she thrives in. She’s a wonderful companion—but she deserves a home that can fully embrace her energy, intelligence, and zest for life. --- ### The Bottom Line Indie is: * Smart * Adventurous * Social * Water-loving * Cuddly * Confident * Playful She’s ready to be someone’s once-in-a-lifetime dog—the kind that changes your life in all the best ways. If you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy who can hike by day and cuddle by night, Indie might just be your heart dog.

Story
Millie is a great dog she’s just a little too mouthy and snappy to have a toddler and a newborn around. Shes never seriously bitten anyone but she has snapped at people when she is scared. Just a warning sign. Most of the time this is because she is around me and my wife and she is pretty protective. Other than that she can be pretty shy to new people but mostly does well.
