Story
Sparky is a 17 month old cuddle bug. He was an owner surrender we pulled from the shelter in December. He has made himself quite at home. He gets along well with our boys and does wonderful with our grandchildren. He can be a bit growly with our bigger boy, but Cooper is very passive and just ignores him. Sparky is a Bull in a China shop. He marches everywhere he goes and really wants to be the boss, but does well with the 4 other dogs in our home. Sparky is the definition of a velcro dog and will never leave you lonely. He is not a fan of crates. The wonderful dog warden that ran the shelter believes the crate was used as a punishment in his previous home. Sparky is a Amish pup. The original owners said they "rescued" him after seeing the breeder kick him. Sparky has been in our home for over 2 months now and is a wonderful little boy. He is currently around 40#, neutered, current on everything including flea and heartworm prevention. If Sparky sounds perfect for family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts.

Story
Marsh is a 45 lb 2 yr old Australian Shepherd mix.  He is social, friendly, good with other dogs, and has been introduced to a cat as well.  He lived in a home with children prior to coming to the shelter and did fine with them.  He is currently enrolled in our prison training program to work on housetraining and enhance his obedience skills. And he will remain there until we find an approved adopter. His handler states the following: He loves to cuddle, great on leash, ignores the resident cat, loves the other dogs and is true to his breed by wanting to herd the others.  Anyone interested in Marsh MUST call the shelter directly to schedule an appointment to meet him and complete an application.   Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Story
Ollie is very much like any Aussie. He needs space to run, has loads of energy and will be his best with something to challenge him, he’s ridiculously smart. Personally he is extremely affectionate, will push boundaries, and absolutely loves to play with other dogs, and will chase cats to play because he just can’t seem to get that they aren’t dogs too. I do not have a fenced in space, or the ability to give him all he needs. I took him in to get him out of an apt situation and resolve some behavioral issues from that. He’ll be amazing for the right family/person.

Story
Born 4-1-18 Jax is almost 6 years old. He has only been with one owner since he was a puppy. Shots are all up to date. Jax is very intelligent. He is extremely obedient. Jax knows many commands including: sit, stay, place, crate, drop it, heal, sniff, touch, spin, and out. He is house and crate trained. He loves belly rubs. He loves playing fetch with a ball or frisbee. Loving Dog who will sit at your feet. He does get nervous around children and can be protective over his owner. This dog belongs to my daughter who has a young child and although Jax has never bitten the child, she sees signs of nervousness and has seen glimpses of aggressive moves toward her 10 month old child so she feels she cannot keep the dog. Jax is currently residing with us (her parents) and he has always been very good for us. Jax gets along well with dogs he knows. He is E-collar trained. His trainer stated that he is a smart and a typical Ausie who likes to herd. He is an active couch potato!

Story
Bindi is a 3-year-9-month old Australian Shepherd/Border Colline mix weighing 35 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender due to not being able to provide the time and attention she needs. Potential adopters required to understand breed specific needs. Bindi is a high energy dog and needs an active family, she will not do well if left alone for any period of time. Bindi can be timid with strangers, letting her approach you is best. Once she knows you, she's a very sweet girl and loves belly rubs. Bindi is very smart, quick to listen to commands, she's been through puppy training and basic obedience classes. She loves to be outside and go on adventures, good at parks. She LOVES to play fetch, a tennis ball is her favorite toy. If she does not have a daily outlet for her energy and need to "work" or is left alone she becomes very anxious. When she becomes bored she gets herself into trouble. She is good with other dogs, another dog in the home may help her thrive. Good with children over 12 who will understand her boundaries. Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $20.75. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
