Story

Sparky is a 17 month old cuddle bug. He was an owner surrender we pulled from the shelter in December. He has made himself quite at home. He gets along well with our boys and does wonderful with our grandchildren. He can be a bit growly with our bigger boy, but Cooper is very passive and just ignores him. Sparky is a Bull in a China shop. He marches everywhere he goes and really wants to be the boss, but does well with the 4 other dogs in our home. Sparky is the definition of a velcro dog and will never leave you lonely. He is not a fan of crates. The wonderful dog warden that ran the shelter believes the crate was used as a punishment in his previous home. Sparky is a Amish pup. The original owners said they "rescued" him after seeing the breeder kick him. Sparky has been in our home for over 2 months now and is a wonderful little boy. He is currently around 40#, neutered, current on everything including flea and heartworm prevention. Marsh is a 45 lb 2 yr old Australian Shepherd mix.  He is social, friendly, good with other dogs, and has been introduced to a cat as well.  He lived in a home with children prior to coming to the shelter and did fine with them.  He is currently enrolled in our prison training program to work on housetraining and enhance his obedience skills. And he will remain there until we find an approved adopter. Meet Hannah! Hannah needs a patient foster to help her acclimate to indoor living. Hannah raised a couple litters of puppies as a stray. We trapped Hannah and also took in one older pup and three young puppies (Hannah is the presumed mother of all four).Despite living as a stray and not having much interaction with humans, Hannah has done surprisingly well acclimating. She is comfortable in a crate and doesnt mind other dogs or cats. She comes when called and lets both adults and children approach and pet her now.Due to Hannahs background, we will require the foster to have a securely fenced yard. Hannahs biggest struggle is with leash training. She has chewed through two leashes so far. She does go to the door when she wants to potty (so we assume at one point she did live indoors) but startles at the sight of a leash.Hannah has the potential to be a terrific dog! She just needs a little help with leash-walking and some time to decompress.Fostering or foster-to-adopt are both options and we can provide a crate, baby gates, harnesses, and leashes to help accommodate Hannah in your home. Her adoption fee, should you choose to adopt, is $250. Belle and her siblings were saved by one of our foster families when mom was unable to feed them at 4 weeks. Our fosters took turns throughout the day and night making sure they ate every 4 hours and got lots of love and attention . Ottie comes in as the runt, Tucker and Becky are the largest and Belle has the softest fur! They are now 8 weeks old, happy and healthy. Mom was said to be an Aussie mix and dad was unknown. They have been raised with kids, other dogs, lots of snuggling and even occasionally accompanied their fosters to work.
