Story
This is 4rd old Charlie! He is loyal to those he is comfortable with, stays near, never sprints off, & always comes back when he is called. He learns very quickly! He's smart, fun and loves to run & herd. I got him at about 10wks old from a private breeder in OH after searching the internet for Australian Shepherds. I wanted an energetic Aussie as a companion that I could take with me everywhere! He's been on many roadtrips as long as 13 hours. Unfortunately, Charlie has issues with aggressiveness and has a bite history. I don't understand dog behavior well, but I think he gets overstimulated very easily, and often when food is near. His ideal home would maybe be with a person/couple (without children) who have experience with these issues or have the passion for training/learning about them. He's had 5 private lessons with a professional dog trainer, going over prong collar, E-Collar and leash training, as well as, the place command. Charlie is special and has a lot of potential!

Story
FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOMES NEEDED!! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** We would love to welcome Ava into the Fetch + Releash family July 7th, 2024 (subject to change). In order for Ava to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take her home on her arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until her new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ava / Female / 1 year / 25 pounds / Australian Shepherd Mix / from Tennessee Ava's journey started when she fell into the care of our partner at a tender 14 weeks of age. Despite her undeniable charm, she's been overlooked by local rescue partners, so now we're stepping in to make sure this loving girl finds her forever home. Since Ava has spent the majority of her young life in rescue, she hasn't had the opportunity for training. But she's a true blank slate, ready for someone committed to guiding her through the basics and beyond. As a bundle of energy, she's the epitome of a playful pup, and she thrives on both physical and mental stimulation. Multiple daily walks and engaging doggy enrichment activities are key to keeping her happy and content. Potty training, crate training and proper leash walking will only be the start of Ava's training. Play-based training will help build a strong bond as well as an obedient and loyal companion. Ava's heart is drawn to the water, and she finds pure joy in playing with a hose. A dream come true for her would be a new life near a lake or joining a family with a cottage where she can splash and play to her heart's content. She's currently living alongside an older dog and has learned much from her wise companion. Ava would thrive in a home with an older, balanced dog to show her the ropes and share the joy of everyday life. She may be a busy girl at times but is able to find calm and enjoy cuddles with her family. Ava is adaptable and can fit into any type of living situation, as long as her exercise and mental stimulation needs are met. She's an outgoing and happy girl, always ready to brighten your day with her infectious enthusiasm and affection. Although she has not been tested with kids her temperament suggests she would get along well with dog-savvy children. Are you ready to let this burst of joy become the light of your life?! Ava is ready to be your loyal companion, bringing happiness and love to your days. As a condition of the adoption contract, Ava’s new family will be required to attend and complete a basic obedience class at their own cost (proof required). If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Ava's adoption fee is $900. Story
Meet Jack, our affectionate and lively 2-year-old miniature Australian Shepherd! Jack is a vibrant companion looking for his forever home through no fault of his own. He was adopted through the Humane Society and has been a cherished member of our family, but due to unforeseen circumstances, we are unable to provide him with the care and attention he deserves. Jack is incredibly loving, friendly, playful, and intelligent. He loves to explore the outdoors, go for walks, and engage in interactive playtime. Jack would thrive in a home with an active lifestyle, where he can receive plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. A fenced yard would be ideal for him to safely explore and play. He would do well with an adopter who can dedicate time to training and socialization to help her reach his full potential. Help Jack find his happily ever after! 🐾

Story
Bucky is a 4 year old Australian Shepherd mix. He is a little joyous ball of energy weighing around 30lbs. He goes very few places without a ball in his mouth, is incredibly athletic, and loves attention from everyone he meets. He is cat neutral, gets along great with all dogs (though dogs that want to reciprocate play will be necessary), crates wonderfully, and is potty trained with a consistent routine! Bucky came from a hoarding case in KY where someone passing themselves off as a rescue had dogs chained outside in deplorable conditions with no shelter, and eventually started dumping dogs to cover their tracks. A long time rescuer saved 60 dogs from the situation, and 2 of them made their way to us up north to search for their forever families with us! Bucky is searching for a home with children over the age of 10 and a fully fenced yard due to his energy level. He does well with dogs of all sizes, but does want to play with them all, so dogs under 20lbs and of toy stature, older dogs, or very dog-shy dogs would not be a good fit. Bucky is accepting applications and is currently available for meet and greets with approved adopters! If you’re interested in adopting him or getting pre-approved for our other dogs, please fill out the adoption application at www.RosebudRescue.com/adopt

Story
Reason is an approx. 11 month old female Australian Shepherd weighing 35lbs. She spent the start of her life living in deplorable conditions at a puppy mill before recently coming into rescue. She is so sweet, very interested in making new friends (dog and people!) and is incredibly treat and praise motivated which should make training a breeze! She LOVES toys and almost always has one with her. She has the typical high energy of an Aussie but also loves a good cuddle session! She understands the concept of going potty outside with a consistent schedule and crates well in a quiet area. Reason’s leash training is a work in progress as she is fearful of pressure from the leash, but has already improved immensely. We will send her off with some tips and tricks to work through this and as with all of our dogs, will be here for training advice throughout and after her adoption. NO cats or small dogs due to her herding instincts, however Reason’s ideal adopter would have another playful dog in the house over 20lbs to keep her company. A fully fenced yard is required at this time due to her energy level and leash training. Reason is accepting applications and is currently available for meet and greets with approved adopters! If you’re interested in adopting her or getting pre-approved for our other dogs, please fill out the adoption application at www.RosebudRescue.com/adopt Please note, Reason is only available on a foster-to-adopt basis until spayed.
