Story
Meet Bear, a sweet and gentle soul who has been through a lot but is now ready to embrace his new life with a little more joy and confidence. Originally adopted in 2023, Bear’s journey took a surprising turn when he was recently found as a stray. Despite the challenges he’s faced, Bear remains calm, resilient, and eager to find his place in the world. In his kennel, Bear is a model of tranquility. He’s the kind of dog who enjoys his quiet moments, content to curl up and relax without making much noise or fuss. His calm demeanor makes him a great companion for anyone looking for a laid-back, peaceful dog. Treats? Bear is all about them! He’s a big fan of tasty snacks and is quick to show his appreciation with his gentle, sweet nature. His love for treats is also helping him adjust and learn new things—he’s motivated and eager to please, which makes training sessions a lot of fun. While Bear is still learning how to interact and play with other dogs, he’s making great strides. His playful side is slowly emerging, and with a little patience and encouragement, Bear is becoming more comfortable in social situations. He may need some time to get fully comfortable with new dog friends, but he’s showing promise and is open to making new canine companions. Bear is a quiet, kind, and loving dog who deserves a forever home where he can continue to heal, grow, and share his gentle spirit. If you’re looking for a calm, treat-loving buddy who’s slowly discovering the joy of playtime and companionship, Bear could be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Meet Rodney, a gentle giant with a heart as big as his paws! Found as a stray, Rodney is a calm and loving dog who may be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he’s all about the cuddles and affection. His quiet nature makes him a calm presence in the shelter, and he’s perfectly content lounging on his bed, taking in the sights and sounds around him. His red coat is absolutely stunning and adds to his charm, making him even more striking as he enjoys his quiet moments. Rodney is a relaxed dog, especially in his kennel, where he’s calm and laid-back. But don’t let his peaceful side fool you—Rodney loves to run around outside, soaking up the sunshine and stretching his legs. He’s got a playful side that comes out when he’s in a comfortable environment, and he enjoys a little bit of fun in the sun. Rodney’s love for treats is a great motivator, and they are the perfect way to help him step out of his comfort zone. With a little patience and some tasty rewards, Rodney quickly learns to trust and build confidence, making him a wonderful companion for someone who can offer him the time and care he needs. If you’re looking for a sweet, quiet dog who loves cuddles, enjoys outdoor adventures, and has a beautiful red coat to match his loving personality, Rodney might just be the perfect fit for your home. He’s ready to find a family that will help him continue to build confidence and give him all the love he deserves.

Story
Sherman entered our rescue back in July after he had been hit by a vehicle and left to die. We were contacted by the local Sheriffs office about him, and immediately got him to our vet. He was pretty immobile, and had suffered some serious injuries. After spending a week at the vet, not sure if he was ever going to be able to move again, he started making progress, so he came home with us. After several months of rehab and excercise, Mr. Sherman went from needing to be carried outside to go potty, to wearing a diaper, and eventuially standing and walking on his own. He has gone through so much for such a young pup, but his desire to live and eagerness to be part of a family and be loved has never stopped. He has put on weight, runs and plays with the other dogs, and is really good at going outisde to go potty. Sherman will most liekly always be a special needs dog, as we think he suffered some permanent neurological damage during the accident. He still limps a little on his right side, and doesn't always appear to see or hear perfectly from his right side either, but it doesn't stop him from having fun and wanting to play. Sherman is very active, and would do great in a home with a big fenced yard for him to run and play in. He gets along great with other animals, including cats, and is very friendly with the neighborhood kids ##2196429##

Story
AUSSIE, very active, unbelievably smart. She’s 4 years old and weighs around 25 lbs Sissy needs to be in a home with an active lifestyle. Aussies are incredibly smart dogs that are motivated to learn & please you. If you don’t have experience with this breed, we highly recommend you do your research before applying. Australian Shepherds need to have a job and if they don’t, they will quickly assign themselves one. From Sissy's foster mom: Sissy is a high-energy dog who would thrive in a home with at least one other dog or a highly active owner who wants to walk her often. She loves going to the dog park and is very sociable. Having a fenced yard would be best since Sissy prefers to run around outside. She loves being brushed and loved on. She is house-broken and scratches at the door to go out. She is crate-trained and sleeps through the night. She is a very fun dog.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN.
