Brandy is a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a beautiful merle pattern layered over a warm, brandy-colored coat. She can be a little unsure in the shelter environment, but she’s starting to come out of her shell and make friends in playgroups. Brandy has lived with other dogs before and seems to especially enjoy the company of dogs around her own size. Sweet, thoughtful, and still building confidence, Brandy is looking for a home where she can settle in at her own pace and let her true personality shine.

Jackal is a handsome one-year old male Australian Shepherd/Husky mix who was brought to the HSOV on August 20th 2026 by an individual who found him on State Route 821 (between Interstate-77 and State Route 60 in Washington County Ohio). Jackal was accompanied by his companions (Badger and Puma) who are surely his siblings. All three of the boys were wearing a collar, but there was neither an ID tag nor a dog license tag on their collars ... And they were not microchipped. Jackal has a tan-and-cream medium/longhaired coat with subtle black shading, a long extra fluffy tail, and a beautiful Shepherd/Husky tan face with a white stripe on his forehead, a black button nose, a white ring around his slender muzzle, and large erect ears. Jackal's left eye is pale blue while his right eye is brown. Jackal and his relatives all have incredible extra-fluffy tails (the largest fluffiest tails we've ever seen by far .. almost as if they were sporting hair extensions to enhance the length and volume of their tails) (smile). But we can vouch for the boys and report that their tails are indeed natural with no fake extensions. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Jennie Sherrard for accompanying Jackal for his outdoor photo session. Jackal posed beautifully and was careful to make eye contact with the camera so that everyone could see his stunning eye colors. He gave Jennie several nice hugs while still gazing at the camera. Jackal weighs 36.5 lbs. He did fairly well walking on a leash and was happy when Jennie took him for a short walk after he was finished with his glamour shots. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Jackal and his siblings will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership.

Badger was a little apprehensive about the paparazzi/camera 'thing' as well as his new 'home' with so many other dogs nearby and people that he did not yet realize were his new best friends. Badger did himself proud and bravely posed for pictures with encouragement from Tracy and hearing what a 'good boy' he was. Badger weighs 33.5 lbs. He doesn't appear to have been accustomed to walking on a leash, but he made a noble effort and did fairly well for his Petfinder/Facebook debut photos. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Badger and his siblings will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership.

Puma has a black-and-tan medium/longhaired coat with cream-colored markings on his throat/chest, a long extra fluffy tail, and an adorable black Shepherd/Husky face with brown eyes, tan eyebrows, a black button nose, a slender muzzle, and large erect ears. Puma and his relatives all have incredible extra-fluffy tails (the largest fluffiest tails we've ever seen by far .. almost as if they were sporting hair extensions to enhance the length and volume of their tails) (smile). But we can vouch for the boys and report that their tails are indeed natural with no fake extensions. Thanks to HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos for accompanying Puma for his outdoor photo session. Puma posed beautifully for several pictures although he was really interested in keeping an eye on his younger relatives and gently asking Angel to take him for a walk too. We took a few 'group photos' of the three boys together after their photo sessions and, surprisingly, they were all looking at the camera in a couple of the pictures. Puma weighs 42.4 lbs. Puma didn't seem accustomed to walking on a leash but he quickly learned that new skill when Angel took him for a short walk before returning to his floor crate in the garage area. In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Puma and his siblings will be held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that their family will have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership.

Rebel is a cute young (perhaps one-year old) male Australian Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on August 2nd 2026 after he was found on Dawes Circle in Marietta Ohio. Fortunately, Rebel was wearing a collar with a current dog tag license, so we were hopeful that he would be reclaimed that day. But our hopes were dashed since we've been unable to make contact with his family. We posted Rebel's photo on our HSOV Facebook pages that day with the location where he was found but nobody seemed to recognize him. This little playboy has a white shorthaired coat with a brown patch of hair near the base of his long tail. Rebel has an adorable face with dark brown eyes, a large patch of brown at the base of his left ear, a black button nose, a slender muzzle, and short floppy ears. His left ear is brown and his right ear is sprinkled with brown spots .. which gives him a unique appearance. These photos of Rebel were taken on the afternoon of August 2nd 2026 when HSOV Volunteer Angel Grosklos spent time with him for outdoor pictures. Rebel was full of playful energy and enjoying running laps around Angel (and pausing to check out some of the shelter mascot kitties who were nearby). Rebel is a fairly small boy who weighs 45 lbs. Since his owner has been identified (and he has a current Washington County Ohio Dog License tag), Rebel will be held for a mandatory 14-day hold so that his family will have an opportunity to reclaim him. Rebel will be technically be available for adoption on August 16th in the event that he is not reclaimed. Rebel was not reclaimed, so another lucky family will have an opportunity to adopt this sweet boy.

5yo Australian Shepherd seeking a loving home. Previous owners report he did well with cats/children. When initially coming to us, he showed anxiety during transition while wearing a cone to heal from an injury. A few stressful moments during led to teeth contact early on (strangers getting too close to his face right away), though no injury or so much as broken skin occurred. Asa has warmed up to us well and we have had no issues in the months since. He responds very well to training, knows "leave it," and rings his doorbell to potty, but is too curious to get along with our cats. High energy, smart, affectionate, and eager to please. Loves belly rubs, cuddles, treats, running, and catching toys. Great in the car, at the vet, and not destructive. He is potty, leash, and crate trained. This sweet boy needs a loving family to help him thrive.
